I am so ready for football to start. My Mother In Law, who is also paid to watch our kids during the school year, broke her hip. Thankfully, she will have a full recovery shortly - next few weeks. However, in the interim, not only is she not taking care of our kids, but we are paying her to stay at our house to mostly do nothing while my wife and I juggle full time jobs and the kids. Welcome to family life... I am just thankful my job is going well - really well, actually.

Football will help me escape at least a few hours each weekend very soon...

Good news is with a new (and seemingly competent) coaching staff, I am looking forward to the season even knowing that we will likely be pretty bad. It will be fun to watch the team improve as the year goes on. Part of the reason that last year sucked so bad from the beginning was not only how awful we were, but I had absolutely no faith in that coaching staff and thus no hope for the future.

Exactly Buffedup. With the Uah win I thought that we had turned a corner and was getting better. Then CSU happened. "Hell, maybe CSU got a kick ass coach." Then Sac State happened. 'Hell, I guess we overlooked them looking to Fresno State." Then Fresno State happened. ''Suck my balls, the ****ers have no ****ing clue how to coach!!"

After that....dejection. Even the Wash State game only showed that a fluke could happen, and quite honestly, made me afraid we would keep water bottle and his sunshine band around for another year. Thank the good Lord we don't have to go into another year thinking 'no wins, no improvement'. yes, wins will probably be few, but I espect the team to fight, to compete, and to look like they belong on a BCS field at least. Hell, last year they didn't look like they belonged an a Division 1 field at all. Wins aside, I hope to see them do the basics well, and grow all year long.

I love CU and I love football, but the CSU game and the season in general has me extremely worried. I'm somewhat not looking forward to the season because I'm tired of being embarrassed.

Coach said after practice yesterday that he had the sharpest cleanest crispest practice of the fall. He attributed it to players being in positions for a while now and starting to form some continuity.

I am so pumped for the season. Kool-aid is really flowing right now. I think we shock some people.

How can CU be embarrassed? There is only upside, the program cannot slip any lower.

Can I just keep pretending we were hit with the death penalty for a few more years until we can field a team that´s at least competitive at the BCS level from a talent and coaching stand point?

I'm happy that football is here but at the same time, I'm dreading the first game. It has been that way for awhile so a different outcome than the last five or so years would be greatly welcomed.

We are 3-2 against CSU in this miserable past 5 year stretch, you know. The 3 wins were all pretty dominating (21, 21 and 14 points). There's no reason to "dread" CSU. This probably isn't going to be a season filled with loads of victories, but if you're somehow trying to imply that we should "fear" CSU... just no. I'm not guaranteeing a victory or anything of the sort, I'm just not filled with some sense of dread over facing CSU. I have no dread. I'm happy to have a clean break with the past and be moving forward.

All we can hope for at this point is a solid win of csu. And I'd like to see at least one win at home this year. I think they'll beat Central Arkansas and Zona at home. Zona will be playing well and winning games, but they'll be due for a slip up game when they come to Boulder.

I can't wait for football season!!!! To bad I will be stuck in Canada where the only thing I get is Canadian college football and might I say it is worse then watching high school football.

Fan interest:

It would be interesting to know how many total posts there are here today, compared to the Mondays before the 1st Embree game, the 1st Hawkins game, the 1st Barnett game. It seems to me posts are down a bunch.

go Buffs

I'm pretty sure gasm uped the post count last year. I'm not sure that was a good thing.
