Oregon is exceptionally good this year

Buffs actually played pretty well in that 1st half. Probably a little bit of Oregon not playing their "A" game, but I'll credit CU for that.

As crazy as it is to say, the defense did a pretty good job while giving up 43 points in 2 quarters.

When you look at it, so much comes down to making the plays that are there for you ... or not making them.

P-Rich dropped 2 long passes he should have had.
Webb missed an easy INT opportunity.
KO coverage should have recovered a fumble.
Offense couldn't finish drives with touchdowns.

Meanwhile Oregon made its plays. Forced turnovers and scored touchdowns.

This is actually a competitive game on the field even though the scoreboard says BLOWOUT.

No chance that we come back today, but there is a lot here to build on.

100% agree we are playing arguably the best team in the nation. While the scoreboard says otherwise I live the way our team is playing and our coaching too. We have tied the most points scored on them all year in just the 1st half

Plus you look at how our young guys recruited by Mac like Gilliam and Adkins can play with Oregon. I am really optimistic about our future.

Oregon's about as good as they've been the past few years. Which is obviously very good but i don't see this year's team any significantly better than their recent teams. But yes, we had a number of missed opportunities in the first half and this game could've easily been much closer at the half.

Just got back from the game. I feel as though we're the first team that Oregon has faced this season that prevented them from naming a score up to one hundred. They could have scored more, sure. But heading into the gentlemen's part of the game, I thought CU did as well as could be expected in the face of superior speed and talent of slowing the Ducks down.

As I've said all season, it's not about wins and losses for me this year. I just want to see a team that looks like it's well coached, and is responding. I feel as though I saw that tonight.

Disagree with both of you, but I'm no expert. Mariota great at the read-option...not so sure he's any better than Dixon was for them. Great offense, though. It will be interesting to see if a top notch, athletic defense can slow them down.

They found Mariota. No one was recruiting him and a Duck offer came out of nowhere.

While great, I actually believe this is a weaker Oregon team than the previous years. They are sloppy and undisciplined. They get off to slow starts. The mystique isn't the same without Chip Kelly.

He started for his high school team and was GREAT as a senior.

Must have been junior year. It always seemed weird to me but I thought I remember reading (or maybe I saw it on ESPN....there's the problem) last year.

Sent from a red light

I won't miss Mariota when he's gone.He's only a sophomore right?

He's a redshirt sophomore - this is his 3rd year at Oregon. So he can enter the draft after this year if he wants to.

A crazy fact the TV announcers gave during the game was that he has only finished 4 of the 18 games he has started as a Duck. Now that's a pretty dominant program.

In line with another post in this thread, I do think that Oregon might have trouble with Stanford.

I think it's a testament to how good they are that you used the word "might" when talking about them going on the road against a Top 5 team.
