The Top 5 Secondaries Oregon State Will Face in 2017
1. Colorado Buffaloes

In the Pac 12, there was no better ball hawking team than the Buffaloes. Along with 15 interceptions, the Buffaloes had an outstanding 72 passes defended, 12 more than the runner up UCLA Bruins & USC Trojans. Not only did the Buffaloes have success within their conference, they were also the fifth-best passing defense in the nation. Despite the loss of their top cornerback, Chidobe Awuzie, it is highly unlikely that Colorado will not continue to make opposing quarterbacks’ and receivers’ Saturday rough.

The Top 5 Receiving Corps Oregon State Will Face in 2017
1. Colorado Buffaloes

The Buffs are loaded at the receiver spot for next season, headlined by big-time play-maker Shay Fields, who caught 56 passes for 883 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2016. As a rising senior, Fields may be one of Colorado’s best offensive NFL prospects for next year’s draft, along with guard Jeromy Irwin and running back Phillip Lindsay. Besides Fields, the Buffs still have Devin Ross, the team’s leading receiver from a season ago at their disposal, as well as the trio of Juwann Winfree, Kabion Ento and Bryce Bobo, who are all suitable targets in their own right. Winfree is a solid-sized pass-catcher who is returning from a torn ACL, while Ento has already been labeled as the surprise of the spring practices for Colorado. As for Bobo, he’ll add another piece of depth to one of the deepest receiving corps in all of college football, that could also mix in four-star recruit K.D. Nixon, pending they choose not to red-shirt the Texas native.

3. Phillip Lindsay (Colorado)

Senior running back Phillip Lindsay may not be a secret to only fans of the Pac-12 for too much longer, as the Buffs leading backfield man is set to bust onto the national scene for his last go-round in Boulder. Lindsay led the conference in rushing touchdowns with 16 scores a season ago and posted 1,252 yards on the ground, a mark that finished 4th in the “Conference of Champions”, trailing only Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey, Utah’s Joe Williams and Washington’s Myles Gaskin. A talent who could improve with a reworked offensive grouping in front of him, Lindsay is also a solid target in the passing game as well, where he caught 53 passes in 2016. He’s expected to the focal point of a Colorado offense that believes it has the tools of be one of the most prolific units in the Pac-12.

Also Considered

Steven Montez (Colorado): Montez tossed for 293 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 47-6 thrashing of the Beavers last season, the highest-point total allowed by the Oregon State defense all-year long. He’ll likely step into the full-time starting role for the Buffs this season, with another year of growth and development under his belt.

*Looks like they haven't done OL, DL and LB yet.

Last season some of the folks on the OSU boards were holding up CU and MacIntyre as a model for how a P12 bottom dweller succeeds. Cal fans were, too.

I guess it's cool in Corvallis to look up to the Buffs. Hope that sentiment spreads.

I think Anderson will be the next model...if they can find a QB they are gonna pretty darn good in a year or two.

Funny they have CSU ranked in QB, RB and receiver above the likes of UCLA and Stanford. Don't know how credible the ranking is with all of that.

And they said they hoped they could see CSU's Buffalo.
