Oregon's beat writer sizes up the Buffs

Interesting article - but still seems to misunderstand CU a bit in regards to weather. There is a chance of a snow-storm during the season, but it is actually pretty unlikely IMO. More likely is a warm game start, getting chilly when the sun goes down and a brisk wind.... nothing that should really affect the players.

You do realize now that you've said this that the Colorado weather gods are gonna bury the USC game under 4 feet of snow right? :lol:
 
the weather always seems to turn cold right around Halloween-

the 19-19 tie w/Nebraska in Boulder took place in an icy, snow packed Folsom Field on November 2nd- it was 2 at kickoff

Sure, it happens. But it isn't the norm. When did we last have a game in the snow?
 
we've had a couple different threads on here about "snow games"....haven't been THAT many. most everybody points to the same ones. KSU under Rick, ISU in 99 or 2000 (mostly just ice and COLD)...etc.

chances of it being 75 and blues skies is more the %, seems...even into late October. ah, sunny fall day on the east side of Folsom....and the clarity of the light reflecting off GOLD helmets...don't get much better.

We get 1 or 2 cold games every year. As far as snowing during the game, you're right that is not the norm. The 07 Nebraska game was cold as ****, we had to chip ice off the bleachers.

Last actual snow game I remember is the 2000 ISU game
 
ISU game in 2000, I ordered hot chocolate for my daughter and it was iced chocolate before I got my change. Miserable. Football and skiing are similar in bad weather...if you're dressed for it, it can be a blast. I hope the weather makes some of our opponents 'uncomfortable'. Barkley will put it on the turf if its in the 30s.
 
I think the worst game I remember was the 96 KSU game, cold as hell plus a night game.
 
Fair enough. The gold will be an issue for the Friday night game against USC. But is the weather really any worse than playing in Oregon or Washington at that time of year? Dark, chilly, and rainy is what I remember of the Northwest once late Oct and Nov roll around.
 
I do love the sound of glove-muffled claps after a big play in cold weather.

Favorite game: 1991 v. nebraska.
