I didn't see one of these for the current week.

I no longer post on VT sites, and I really just wanted a place on Allbuffs to mention my Hokies. I haven't been this excited about a VT hoops team since we won the NIT in 1995. 2-0 in ACC play, 13-1 overall, #10 AP ranking (beats chest). Need to take care of business next Wednesday against GT and take a 3-0 conference record into the JPJ against Virginia next weekend. I'll try not to be even more obnoxious on Allbuffs.

Monday big games: looks like another weak Big Monday. maybe there's a football game to watch.

Tuesday big games:
UNC at NC State, 7PM MT ESPN

Wednesday big games:
VT @ GIT, 5PM MT ACCNE
Auburn @ Ole Miss, 5PM MT ESPN2

Thursday big games: not much, go watch the Buffs take down Wazzou! Actually, the whole conference slate is intesting today. watch the Pac12 scoreboard for UCLA @ UO, UW @ UU, USC @ OSU.

New Mexico beat previously undefeated Nevada by 30 at the Pit today-that win looks a wee bit better than it did this morning.

Was just coming to post this. College basketball doesn’t make sense sometimes. Buffs are bad right now, but the win at New Mexico is really solid.

This whole conference is 2012 bad. Arizona State is the only team in the league with anything resembling an argument for an at large IMO. I expected these two losses-good to get this trip out of the way, and now gotta go and take care of WSU/UW.
 
Virginia Tech passes their first road test in conference play to take a 3-0 lead in the ACC, overcoming one of their worst shooting performances of the year. Hokies now get a six day rest before traveling to Charlotesville next Tuesday.

apologies again if I'm being obnoxious here -- us Hokies don't really know how to act in this position. I'll be all-Buffs tomorrow.

FT's killing me, but I'm stoked.
 
Cuse gonna take down the Dukies in Cameron. Only saw the last 5 minutes of regulation and OT. But cuse is ATHLETIC
 
#9 VT @ #1 UVA tomorrow is on the ACC Network. No TV coverage outside the commonwealth (UNC - NCSU is the marquee conference game tomorrow).

Game has been sold out a while. I’ve been trying to get several of my clients who are all UVA sponsors to take me. No dice.

Stubhub starting at $35. You'll probably do even better outside JPJ. Weeknight game and Wahoo fans don't consider us a real basketball rival.

No. Live in NOVA near DC, but have clients throughout VA & MD.

A couple of my stores are big UVA sponsors. The 5 hours of driving need to be accompanied by top notch amenities!
 
"wait until basketball season" is something VT fans are used to hearing each November from Wahoos.

I did. I haven't ever been this geeked up for a regular season hoops game that I wasn't attending. if anyone else is interested in this matchup, here's a game preview written by techsideline member bourbonstreet -- he's been doing these for at least a decade and I enjoy his informal blog style.

tonight will be tough and my expectations are realistic, but Hokies currently at #8 in the NET, #7 in the coaches and #9 in the AP. This season has been surreal.

I have four pennants hanging in my office, one for each of VT's ACC football championships. I've fantasized for years about adding an ACC basketball championship pennant to the wall, but didn't think I'd live to see the day. At the moment, it seems totally feasible. It had to be awesome for Buff hoops fans to get a conference championship so quick after joining the Pac 12.

the part of my work day where I actually engage with other people is over and I'm going to have trouble focusing from this point on.
 
Duke had an injury in that game yesterday. Jones has a AC joint problem. That is bad news for them on both ends of the floor, especially on D. Jones is their best perimeter defender, maybe their best defender, period.
 
Kentucky is looking really good at Auburn. Nobody talking about UK this year, but I think Coach Cal's going to have them poised for a deep tourney run in March. Long, physical group this year. Not the typical group of skinny freshmen putting in their pre-NBA year.
