CU getting votes in the Coaches poll but not the AP. East coast bias alive and well this week. On what planet is UCLA not a Top 25 team right now? 18-5, 2nd place in Pac-12 (the #3 RPI conference), and the #19 RPI (#16 BPI for the ESPN fanboys).

fwiw, CU's case is 18-6, 3rd place, and #25 RPI.
 
Hard to see us being ranked again this year. It was fun while it lasted. I guess if we win our next four games, possibly 3-1 including beating UofA. I was initially thinking if we beat USC/UCLA, but we're not even on the radar screen in the AP.
 
UCLA hurt themselves by playing a fairly weak OOC schedule and losing to the only two teams on that schedule that are in tournament discussion for an at large bid. They have some quality Conference wins, but have yet to beat a good team on the road other then CU in their first game after the Dinwiddie injury.

If they beat CU and Utah, good chance of being ranked next week (and then becoming unranked the next week with their Bay Area trip unless they find a way to win a couple road games)
 
Iowa State getting stomped 33-52 on the road. They aren't as good as their ranking. Probably a top 20 team.
 
4-8" of snow on top of 1/2" of ice in Chapel Hill today. You might see a Duke-North Carolina game in a half filled arena tonight.

Yep, very very nasty down there (and we're about to get 8-12 inches here starting any minute). Most games in the Carolinas are postponed tonight...every one except Duke/UNC, actually.
 
My office has already closed for tomorrow, first time that has ever happened -- the day before, without any snow on the ground.

Will start up there around 7pm tonight. Front edge of the storm now creeping into Charlottesville's southern suburbs.
 
I'm guessing they'll play the Duke-UNC game as long as Duke can make the bus trip over there, and of course there'll be pressure from ESPN to play the game.

Watching CNN right now. Raleigh/Durham is at a complete standstill. If Duke didn't leave a long time ago, they're going nowhere.
 
Does Wyoming beating #5 SDSU last night make our win over them look any better. Probably not a lot but can't hurt.

Yes. It vaulted Wyoming into the Top 100 of RPI, which is printed as a "quality win" on the team sheets the Selection Committee uses.

Yeah it was actually huge for us. Wyo being top 100 is crucial for our hopes, now they're solidly in at 91.
 
Thank God Furd/Washington is on at 7. I don't have to re-adjust my evening.

Hey now. This was chivalrous. There wasn't time for the Dukie bus to drop the players' "dates" back at NC Central and still make it to the game on time.
 
Glancing at their schedules it looks like the best chance to reschedule this game might be tomorrow night. Both teams play on Saturday but they're both at home which would make the shorter turnaround easier.
