Maybe one of the weakest weeks of college football in recent history.
Zero as in none match-ups between top 25 teams
We get a couple of rivalry games with Iowa State playing at #16 Iowa and in the region New Mexico State playing New Mexico. We also get the battle of fake internet posters with Utah playing BYU in their annual battle of caffiene free soda schools.
In the PAC best game may be Virginia visiting Oregon
There are some top 25 schools who lost last week who will be looking for redemption including Notre Dame hosting Nevada and Oklahoma hosting Louisiana Monroe. Spread there is only 46.5 points so look for a barnburner. At least that one has a spread. Ole Miss ( playing mighty Wofford) and LSU (playing Jacksonville State) aren't even on the board.
Even with all those the biggest blow out of the week could end up with #3 Free Shoes University playing FCS Charleston Southern. This would be a candidate for a record margin of victory in most cases but Charleston also now has lost their first and second QBs to injuries and has 30 players suspended for the game including the entire starting OL. Maybe they can go back to pee-wee days and have FSU lend them some players to complete the game.
Overall enjoy watching CU pound on Idaho State and hopefully a good long look at a lot of our young players because this weekend doesn't offer a lot otherwish.
Locally
Wyoming gets the fuskers. Fuskers are not the fuskers of old but Wyo is a bad team, should be another of those walk overs that kNU fans love so much
CSU opens their home schedule against UT San Antonio, will there be anyone there to see it. Sheep fans aren't very confident this will be a win after getting demolished last week
AFA looks to fatten up their record against Georgia State (no not UGA or Tech)
Northern Colorado coming off a big home win against a lower division school now goes on the road against an Abilene Christian squad that gave AFA a better battle last week than many expected.
In small colleges Mines coming off a huge win of perpetual power CSU-Pueblo goes to New Mexico Highlands.
CSU-P Tries to get back on track with a home game against West Texas A&M who lost last week to Azuza Pacific. Normally I am a big fan of CSU-Pueblo but cheering for WTA&M because I can't support anyone against a Buffalo team which happens to be their mascot.
Somehow not quite as impressive as Ralphie
