Are we at week 9 already, seems like just a few weeks ago when fans of every program were optimistic about their schools having a great season or at least overachieving. Now we have some very sad, some hoping to stay in contention for bowls, some pushing for better bowls, some hoping for a spot in the college playoffs, and fans in Florida threatening to kill their coach.

Thursday starts with some G5 games and (20) Stanford going into Corvallis to give the Oregon State Beavers their weekly beating.

Friday we have a couple good entertaining teams playing.

Unfortunately they aren’t playing each other. (24) Memphis plays at the mighty 3-4 Tulane Green Wave and 5-2 SMU hosts 2-6 Tulsa. Meanwhile Florida State fans try to figure out how they can be only 2-4 going to Boston College.

Saturday should be a great day of watching with a bunch of top 25 matches.

In the B12 we have (11) Oklahoma State going to (22) West Virginia with two teams that can play exciting football. We will also see if (25) Iowa State is for real as (4) TCU comes in hoping to continue on a path to the playoffs.

Another are they for real game has (14) North Carolina State going into South Bend to battle (9) Notre Dame.

In the normally wouldn’t support them but game (6) Ohio State at home may be the best bet to derail (2) Pervert State keeping them out of playoff contention.

Big PAC games include (15) Washington State at 5-2 Arizona, (21) USC at 4-2 Arizona State, and (12 Washington hosting 4-3 UCLA.

In the teams we love to see lose category we don’t get to include Texas. They are playing Baylor who we would rather see lose as they go for a winless season standing now at 0-7.

Nebraska may actually get a win this week as the Fuskers visit also 3-4 Purdue. If they lose to the Boilermakers some Nebraska fans may end up burning all their red polyester in the streets. No one will pay much attention though just thinking it is some new recipe for cooking meth. When was the last time Purdue was favored by 6.5 over Nebraska?

So far Butch Jones still has a job but Tennessee plays at 5-2 Kentucky this week. Lose again and he may need a food cart to hide behind as he sneaks out of harm’s way. The Volsnation board should be a lot of fun.

Locally Air Force plays Colorado State in Fort Collins. Both teams won last week and this game is important for each. For Air Force they need it to stay in bowl contention, CSU still has hopes of a conference title.

Wyoming needing a win gets the 3-4 New Mexico Lobos in Laramie

UNC at 2-4 host 5-2 Southern Utah after losing last weekend on a game ending FG.

For the small colleges Mesa and Pueblo continue to lead the league. Mesa hosts New Mexico Highlands and Pueblo host Western State. Mines goes to Chadron State.

I think you are selling Tulane short. Decent team whose losses really are not bad.

Their losses aren't terrible but their wins (Grambling, Army, Tulsa) aren't impressive either.

They probably are decent but the couple times I've seen Memphis they have looked like a quality talented team. Other than blowing out UConn they haven't been winning huge but they have been winning.

AAC looks to be easily the strongest of the G5 conferences this year.

Stanford favored by 21 over Oregon State. Beavers got a boost last week from having a new coach and played well. Don't think they are going to get much help from that this week. Stanford might take this game as a get well week. They blew up Oregon last week 49-7, Might be playing the walk-ons by the middle of the 3rd quarter tonight.

They look pretty good right now. Looks like a group who doesn't have anything to lose right now.

Surprised.

Beavers up 7-3 closing in on halftime. Stanford missing their starting QB and Oregon State pulling out all the stops including a throwback to an offensive tackle.

Still think that Stanford is going to end up winning this thing but much more competitive than I expected it to be.

Stanford isn't that great. Just like the rest of the conference.

Washington looks to be pretty good this year.

Not a lot of great teams in the entire country this year. A lot of teams that are very good on one side of the ball but flawed on the other. Isn't just a PAC issue.

Lets go you buck toothed rodent bastards - fell these trees.

Not what I expected.

Looks like Stanford is falling apart before our eyes. Multiple penalties, mistakes. They look like they are gaining some momentum and then they kill it themselves.

Lost two defensive starters on the same play, one on injury the other on targeting.

Now Stanford is moving, will they turn the game or shoot themselves in the foot again.

Stanford is not playing well. The referees are also calling this game favorably for Oregin State. P12 referee weekly flight connection through LV must’ve had a few Beavers +20.5/21 tickets in the carryon luggage.

Nah, we'd hire the OSU head coach and that would be awesome. I love that dude!

(He seems to have potential at least)

I'm a fan, too. Only bad thing is he might get that gig full time if they beat Stanford and win another game or two down the stretch....

Hard to find one other than Alabama

Was thinking the same thing. He wins the majority of the rest of the games along with beating a top 20 team and it would be hard to not give him the job.

Why did Stanford only use their body switching technology to out elway into chrysts body for one play?
