Hokies have quit on the year. I see no signs they are interested in, or responsive to coaching.

I really appreciate what Frank Beamer did at VT from 1987 - 2008, but he's not done Virginia Tech any favors by hanging around 8 years longer than he intended to work.

in fairness, if I got paid $2.5M/year, I'd milk it as long as I could too.

Busy at work. Spaced out the thread entirely this week.

Thursday night game sees VT already down 14-7 to Georgia Tech

Could see some epic blowouts this weekend.
(15)TCU coming off a loss gets Kansas, the closest thing to a punching bag in FBS.
(3)tOSU want's to insure their spot in the playoff and get a bad Illinois team
(1) Clemson gets a really bad Syracuse team.

Best game of the week could be (12) Oklahoma visiting (6) Baylor
Other matches of ranked teams has (2) Bama visiting (17) Miss State and
(21) Memphis at (24) Houston in the Audition Bowl for coaches looking to move to P5 programs.

Fuskers travel to Rutgers. Do we get to see them officially eliminated from bowl contention this week after a miracle home upset last week.

Locally AFA host Utah State in a game for bowl positioning in the MWC.
A bad sheep team host a worse UNLV team
A terrible Wyoming team travels to SDSU, at least they get to warm up as they get beat up.

Small schools CSU-Pueblo travels to Las Vegas. Las Vegas New Mexico that is for what should be a playoff tune-up against a New Mexico Highlands team that has only won 2 games all year.

yeah. i feel a little better now.

actually looking forward to following the coaching search. and should state again, I really appreciate what Frank did his first 20 years at VT: took us from being a school no conference wanted to a seven time conference champion, no NCAA troubles, improved teams profile to the point where the ACC would take us, streak of 10-win seasons, bowl streak, improved academics and understood that a team can tolerate one head case at a time.

whew. don't remember the last time I felt this disgusted over a win (but not near as disgusted as I'd be with a loss). bowl hopes stay alive.
 
Always had great special teams, that is what I remember most about Beamer. Even just a mundane punt or kick off, VT made it look amazing.

Yep and they will win or lose games. U know like missing 35 yard fgs and ****. It changes momentum.

this was true until around 2003. special teams have been an embarrassment the last five years especially. living on reputation.
 
Art Briles called Rece Davis Chris Fowler on GameDay. Davis fired back by calling Briles Gary Patterson.
 
TCU hangs on to keep Kansas winless on the season.

North Carolina absolutely clobbering Miami (hopefully Craig Watts is not watching).

Iowa State up 24-14 over Okie State at the half.

Indiana giving Michigan a game, only down 21-16 late in the 1st half.
 
IU Michigan 34-34 going into OT. Michigan scores on last play of regulation to force OT
