With all our focus on the Buffs coaching situation almost forgot about the other games this week.
We have already had a surprise as Frank Solich’s Ohio Bobcat’s have upset the University of Buffalo for their second loss of the year.
If they have forgotten Nebraska fans can think back to when Solich was their coach and they could win most of their games including some against teams with winning records.
Not much notable on Thursday or Friday nights but some G5 teams jockeying for bowl position.
Saturday’s top 25 matches are mostly mismatches.
Some SEC teams scheduling their typical late season “challenges” against FCS teams or close.
(1) Bama has their “contest” against The Citadel, (5) Georgia plays UMass and (7)LSU faces the awesome 1-10 Rice Owls. Consistent with their SEC brethren (17) Kentucky gets Middle Tennessee
Best game of the day looks to be (3) Notre Dame hosting (12) Syracuse.
In other games matching top 25 teams (16) Iowa State is at (15) Texas and (24) Cincinnati is at (11) UCF.
At least for good news we should expect the fuskers to return to their losing ways. Michigan State has been as inconsistent on the field as the school has been in protecting girls and women but they shouldn’t have any problem beating the remaining Cornhuskers who haven’t transferred to Oregon State yet.
Not much hope of a Penn State loss as they play Rutgers who may be the worst P5 team in the nation.
Baylor hosts a TCU team that if healthy would be highly favored but that has lost more players than some teams have.
Huge game in Laramie as the AFA takes on Wyoming in a game which the loser is out of any bowl contention.
CSU will have PLENTY of available seats as 9-1 Utah State visits Ft. Collins to add to Coach Bobo’s losing record. Utah State is only favored by 28 so the few sheep fans still interested can hope for a cover.
In the FCS Northern Colorado has finished it’s season at 2-9 after losing the first 7. Only question now is will they be changing coaches. Earnest Collins is 5-17 in two seasons.
This week’s biggest game may be in it’s smallest venue. CSU Pueblo goes to Golden for a rematch against Colorado School of Mines in the opening round of the D2 playoffs. Winner advances with a tough road trip to regional #1 Minnesota Mankato.
This will be a tough challenge but when Pueblo won their national championship they played and won multiple games on the road.
