Little early but college football is back and I couldn't wait.
A lot of really bad games this week but some very good ones as well, should see some big movement in the top 25 after it is all over.
Thursday
No match-ups of top 25 teams and frankly not many games that even look interesting. Could see some 50 point margins of victory. A few chances for P5 schools to pick up an ugly loss to start the season. Looking at Indiana travelling to Florida International.
Friday
Buffalo time takes priority but a bunch of other games.
Again no top 25 match-ups but the first good game of the year. Kansas State goes to #8 Stanford. Should be a solid win to start the Cardinal season but beating old man Snyder is never a given even though they have lost a lot of talent.
Saturday
First of two top 25 match-ups of the day. #3 Oklahoma goes to #15 and B12 hopeful Houston. A lot of people think this could be the Sooners year. Lose here and Bob Stoops could find himself catching a lot of heat from OU fans.
Also have #18 Georgia at #22 North Carolina. Winner could move up a few spots, loser drop out of the rankings. Georgia just won't look right without Richt on the sidelines. They still have a ton of talent though.
#16 UCLA goes to unranked but talented Texas A&M
# 5 LSU travels to unranked Wisconsin
Both home teams have been solid programs recently and could come away with upsets.
Also have #2 Clemson visiting Auburn. Clemson should win this but surprised these two teams are actually playing decent competition this early in the season.
Day ends with #20 USC playing #1 Alabama. Bama has had huge success in recent years and USC has lost more than expected. With all that USC may be one of the few teams that has the pure athletes to line up against Bama. Would be huge for the PAC12 if USC could pull the upset.
Sunday
#10 Notre Dame goes to Texas. One of the few times I would actually root for Texas but ND is a much better team. Texas has to figure out how to win again but it won't be this weekend.
Monday
Worth waiting for. #11 Ole Miss at #4 Free Shoes University. This should be fun. Speed all over the field
Locally on Saturday AFA host Abiline Christian.
Smaller schools
In what should be a great game CSU-Pueblo visits Golden to play Mines.
UNC host Rocky Mountain College (who?) in Greeley
