Little early but college football is back and I couldn't wait.

A lot of really bad games this week but some very good ones as well, should see some big movement in the top 25 after it is all over.

Thursday
No match-ups of top 25 teams and frankly not many games that even look interesting. Could see some 50 point margins of victory. A few chances for P5 schools to pick up an ugly loss to start the season. Looking at Indiana travelling to Florida International.

Friday
Buffalo time takes priority but a bunch of other games.
Again no top 25 match-ups but the first good game of the year. Kansas State goes to #8 Stanford. Should be a solid win to start the Cardinal season but beating old man Snyder is never a given even though they have lost a lot of talent.

Saturday
First of two top 25 match-ups of the day. #3 Oklahoma goes to #15 and B12 hopeful Houston. A lot of people think this could be the Sooners year. Lose here and Bob Stoops could find himself catching a lot of heat from OU fans.

Also have #18 Georgia at #22 North Carolina. Winner could move up a few spots, loser drop out of the rankings. Georgia just won't look right without Richt on the sidelines. They still have a ton of talent though.

#16 UCLA goes to unranked but talented Texas A&M
# 5 LSU travels to unranked Wisconsin
Both home teams have been solid programs recently and could come away with upsets.

Also have #2 Clemson visiting Auburn. Clemson should win this but surprised these two teams are actually playing decent competition this early in the season.

Day ends with #20 USC playing #1 Alabama. Bama has had huge success in recent years and USC has lost more than expected. With all that USC may be one of the few teams that has the pure athletes to line up against Bama. Would be huge for the PAC12 if USC could pull the upset.

Sunday
#10 Notre Dame goes to Texas. One of the few times I would actually root for Texas but ND is a much better team. Texas has to figure out how to win again but it won't be this weekend.

Monday
Worth waiting for. #11 Ole Miss at #4 Free Shoes University. This should be fun. Speed all over the field

Locally on Saturday AFA host Abiline Christian.

Smaller schools
In what should be a great game CSU-Pueblo visits Golden to play Mines.

UNC host Rocky Mountain College (who?) in Greeley

ACC has a lot on the line this weekend (and no, I don't give two ****s about ACC "pride" in this behemoth conference with teams who don't play for a decade, just an observation). Clemson and FSU defeats would end things before they got started. Lot of feeling of UNCheat (funny, that's been a term we've used here for over 20 years, seems we were on to something) as a potential "sleeper". They've ruined any dreams of that with a double dose of FCS on their schedule though as they'd have to run the table. Hopefully Georgia ends it before it even gets started.

Am I crazy in thinking that A&M could pull this off?

No you aren't crazy. aTm has a ton of talent all over the field. They have used it badly and are missing a few parts but UCLA isn't going to be bigger, stronger, or most importantly faster than them. Based on past history it is never a surprise when UCLA lays an egg in an OCC road game.

A&M will have 100K yelling and swaying 12th Men trying to get in Josh Rosen's head.

I suspect that Rosen will perform better than A&M's transfer Trevor Knight at this point in the season.

I also believe that Mora >Sumlin.

A&M isn't the cream of the SEC crop. They aren't invincible at home. An aggie victory is possible, but I'm going with who has the better coach and QB in this one.

Yep. But UCLA is also one of those teams that could whip aTm and then struggle with UNLV next week.
Very true, man can't wait till Friday, gonna be a fun weekend. There are some really good games on the slate. I'm very anxious, besides our game, for USC, Bama.

Osa Masina from U$C is being investigated in 2 states, Utah and Cali. One state is sexual assault, the other hasn't disclosed why. Utah it's sexual assault I believe. He sounds familiar, did we recruit him?

"Recruit him" is a relative thing. He was a consensus 5* recruit. CU extended an offer and hoped that he would have interest. He only visited USC, UCLA and ASU.

How did he not end up at Baylor?

Would be a huge blow to the Pac-12 and its playoff chances if both UCLA and USC lose.
USC losing close would be ok. UCLA losing at all is really bad. Middle of the road SEC team vs one of the preseason favorites to win the Pac12 South.

oregon st vs minn

PAC12 can't afford to have a bad weekend. I expect Oregon State to lose at a pretty good Minnesota team but need Arizona to beat BYU and UCLA not to lose at aTm.

The Stanford game is the biggest. I think they are the leagues best hope to get back into the playoff this year, a loss to the Kittys would hurt the entire league.

why wouldn't you want the PAC 12 to lose? Seems like it only opens the door for CU more if they do.

Wat.

PAC12 teams losing to OOC opponents does nothing to benefit CU. The opposite actually. In conference losses can help I guess, but the CU door relies most on PAC12 losses to CU. I wish we would stop thinking about what other teams do in regards to how CU is helped or hurt. Rely on ourselves, please.

A Houston win would not only catapult them into the driver's seat for the G5 invite, but they'd probably stay in the CFP conversation for some time.

I'm surprised to find myself liking Eastern Michigan's silver/gray field.

It would of course look even better if their other color was black or gold instead of green.

Stanford beating KjSU tonight should get some respect considering the girl scout troops that lots of the other top teams are playing this weekend.

Snyder is a good coach
