Other hoops games - week two

I'm really REALLY hoping that we get the 10" of snow people are saying we may get so I can stay home from work and watch this tomorrow. Some absolutely incredible games on tap.

My office is already talking about closing, so working from home tomorrow is probably gonna happen. Excited.
 
UVA lost at George Washington. Not used to seeing them lose after the past couple years. I thought #6 was too high for them to be ranked after the players they lost.

I don't know much about GW this year but from recent history I suspect they might actually be a good midmajor team. Still, that is significant considering the expectations for a Bennett team seem to go up a step every year.
 
Really good win for the Utes over SDSU just now.

Oregon vs Baylor on now. I was wondering how I could deal with cheering for Oregon and then I realized that I don't have to. I'm just cheering against Baylor. Every time Oregon makes a shot, I yell "**** you bailer!" at the tv and every time Baylor misses one, turns the ball over, commits a foul or whatever else bad, I yell "suck it bailer!". This is fun.
 
Miss State lost to friggin' Southern.

ASU and Belmont going down to the wire.

Fell asleep watching BYU @ Long Beach St. BYU ended up losing by 1. Pretty good team and dangerous, but a squad the Buffs should beat at home. LBSU looks good this year.
 
I hate having NBA guys announcing college games. Van Gundy just said that he wishes that college would go to 6 fouls instead of 5 because too much time is spent by coaches managing foul trouble. He's got no ****ing clue how badly that would slow the game down and turn it into a slugfest (old Big East tried it and it was ugly).

Does he realize they play 40 minutes vs the NBA's 48 minutes?

Edit-- I think he does. He said he wants the NBA to go to 7 fouls. Dude just likes "Bad Boy" style hoops, I guess.

Yeah ... good luck with that strategy. I tried that with Mich St @ nebraska, and got dumped on for it, starting with ... oh, who was it ... oh yeah, YOU. :p

In this case, Buff fans have reason to hate both teams.

In your case, Buff fans have the ultimate hate for one team and couldn't care less about the other.

#8 Oklahoma up 1 at Memphis at half (ESPN)

Penn State (CU opponent in Vegas this year) up 3 vs DePaul with 15 minutes left (ESPNU)
 
Oklahoma gets it done behind 30 from Buddy Hield (Buffs were so close to signing him).
 
Good game by the Sooners. Great day of hoops. Saw the Buffs won and have it recorded so I can watch this evening. So excited about the season as a whole. @Buffnik you are going to have to watch out for the oldest on Friday. He will be there with the GF as I am flying in from Columbus and will not be there in time. He is driving her up and taking her to the DH I believe then walking over. Chip off the old block
 
Not sure anyone expected UVA to go "up". They can't go "up" on the regular season after winning 30+ games the last two seasons. They'll be fine. Got caught snoozing against a sneaky good regional rival on the road in a game where UVA had 10 fouls called on them after about 5 minutes. Color me concerned if it happens again. Not counting on it.

I hate seeing all those empty prime seats. especially for a Duke/Kentucky game.

Neutral site games need to stop. in Lexington or in Durham, this game would be the event of the year.
 
Hard not to be impressed with Kentucky after tonight. Those guards are sick.
 
Can I get a Nelson "Ha Ha" for the way KU turtled against MSU and got steamrolled late? :ROFLMAO:

Also, Izzo gonna Izzo. Best coach in the land IMO.
 
Ole Miss lost to George Mason.
Temple won vs Minnesota.
Miami has opened a huge can of whoop ass on Miss State: 36-13 after 10 minutes.
