Over / Under on Chip Kelly's job?

If Oregon has watched any of OSU's troubles, they might want to eject Chip now. This is only gonna get worse. Base line date is Sept 3, game versus LSU. Over / Under. Place your bets.

I'll go with under if they plan on getting anything other than very serious sanctions. No way do they keep him around with this kind of stuff going on.

I'm with Buffnik, won't make it to fall camp. Canzano is the local blowhard who likes to take shots at Oregon but he's got enough contacts to be credible. Listened to his show on the way home. Kelly is done because Oregon is going to throw him under the bus hoping to save the university greater sanctions.

Kelly loses credibility

Edit - A little side note. I am a transplant here, obviously, and didn't come with much of a feeling on football here. Oregon fans here have a sense of entitlement which is really ****ing annoying. So watching them squirm their asses off is kind of amusing.

It's over. Oregon will probably hem and haw for a bit, but now that the cat is out of the bag, the media are going to circle and circle. Just ask OSU what happens when people really start digging. Oregon is just going to be subject to more and more scrutiny until it becomes a circus.

I'm going with over. As snow said, the wheels of the NCAA work slowly. At OSU, it took a long time for the admin to get around to the point where they realized they needed a sacrificial lamb. I think the folks at UO are probably still very early in the process, and are in full denial mode. Fall camp starts in a few weeks. No way do they make a change now.

Never a good sign when your school has recently lawyered up by hiring a guy who's nickname is "The Cleaner," and I don't think we're talking about The Wolf who is going to make it all disappear by buyin the NCAA investigators and Yahoo reporters an oak bedroom set.

Just read that Canzano article. Once the local press turns on you and is making statements like "protect the institution" its the beginning of the end.

I pray that OU hires DIIDan by this fall. He is free to start burning OU to the ground as soon as....now!!

Not sure when he is gone, but Kelly has to be gone. And since OU already lawyered up, they have to know they are up **** creek without a paddle.

i won't cry if UO goes up in flames. they are K-State late 90's like in their flash cash, new money fans. the UO fans i know in Boulder are decent people but complete morons about college football/hoops except this weird idea that everyone in college sports wishes they were Oregon fans. Nice knowin' ya Chip. welcome to Todd Bozeman world or something.

there's an old joke that goes: What do Texans and the French have in common?

they both think they are really cool, but no one else does. UO?

I will go over. I think we hear some kind of announcement midway through the season that Kelly will be stepping aside at the end of the season.

I am guessing the Ducks will make a run at Gus Malzahn. But does he take it?

I'm thinking Mark Helfrich or Shawn Watson.

all my UO buddies were swearing up and down that UO would land Mark Few after firing Ernie (do less with more top 100 recruits) Kent. Few was coming home. sweet jesus. they ended with Dana Altman who won some games with Creighton but was fired at KSU. this, with a new gym to sell and the Nike cheque-book?

something seems iffy in the UO house.

edit: i did like those Luke Jackson, Ridnour, big Swede in the middle teams that Ernie Kent had. another good small forward on those teams...name i can't remember.

I think Dana Altman is a fine coach and his squad is going to be competitive this year.

I also think Chip Kelly not only keeps his job this season, but for the foreseeable future. I don't think this is going to crumble Oregon - they'll get some hand slaps in my opinion.
