The CCG will stay on campus at the stadium of the higher seeded team until "a need for change is identified". Per Joe Schad on Twitter.

I like it the way it is. Homefield is earned on the field with the best conference record, which is as it should be.

Unfortunately not every team in the conference plays each other. I think it detracts from the "best conference record" argument when the teams don't all play the same competition.

I guess, but there is simply not a better solution. That argument could be applied to pretty much every sport, doesn't really hold much water. Take your scenario, what if a 12-0 Colorado team has to play on the road in a very hostile environment against an 8-4 California squad because it just happens that the North has homefield that year? That punishes the better team as well as possibly hurting the conferences shot at a NC berth.

Cal is a very hostile environment? ;)

Maybe we should play a meaningless game in the middle of the season with players from the south vs players from the north. Who-ever wins gets the conference championship game.

It should be based on records more than seedings, but whatever.

If both teams are undefeated the higher ranked team gets homefield? Which ranking? BCS, AP, Coaches? No tiebreakers instead?

If one team is undefeated and the other has one loss, the higher ranked team gets homefield even if the one loss team is ranked higher?

Seems that an undefeated squad should get it over a one loss squad even if they are ranked lower...

Might as well keep it this way for now, but it'll be interesting to see what happens once CU or Utah gets a home game. As others have mentioned, Vegas just isn't capable of hosting it right now with Sam Boyd being the shythole that it is. Sure there are other good options from a pure facilities standpoint, but it runs the risk of being a disaster in years you've got a matchup like Stanford/Arizona in Seattle. It's no secret that the Pac-12 has 4-5 fanbases that have always traveled poorly, even when their respective teams are doing well. People are often going to save their money in hopes of the Rose Bowl.

I think the ACC should have done the same thing in terms of moving it to campus, although as of last year they've finally relocated to Charlotte. They kept putting it in Jacksonville or Tampa for the first five years and it was a nightmare with about 25k showing up for GT/Wake Forest match-ups. Or it could be even worse - you could be the Big12(-2) and not even be able to have a CG at all anymore, despite Darth Snyder's whining that the NCAA allow them to keep divisions and a CG.
