And this is why the PAc12 died. Most of the fans don't give a ****.

Those Stanford numbers have to be inflated by 10,000 at least.
Probably. And it’s a shame, because that’s a very nice venue in a really neat town and the tailgating is really, really good. Maybe there’s just a serious lack of excess income after housing and taxes are paid.

A Stanford tailgate is expensive.

To meet standards you have to have vegan hot dogs, gluten free buns, locally sourced wine and beer, cook and cool everything using solar powered appliances since no fossil fuel or carbon emissions are allowed on campus, and to be inclusive you have to welcome and feed the homeless people camped on the grass next to your parking space.

Weird take. More people would say that’s more indicative of Boulder than Palo Allto.

man, check out how that blue blood USC is drawing! Just trying to imagine how many fans would pack that stadium if they were ranked, or in first place, or had some excitement around a new conference or hot commodity coach or something like that.

Stanford isn’t Cal.

Tis a nice stadium, but ya, it's a long running problem. I was there during peak Harbaugh years and the place was still half full - at best - more days than not. Someone posted an article on here a while back about how admin was actively cracking down on "fun" within the student body, which I wasn't aware of at the time.

Tailgating was good in a polo shirts and good wine type of way though.

Yes, I always LOL at the home of the Hoover Institute and the cradle of crypto-capitalism being described as liberal.
Certainly you don't mean to suggest that the university that gave us Carly Fiorina, William Rehnquist, Stephen Breyer, Peter Thiel and who prominently employed Condoleeza Rice is conservative leaning institution?

How is Oregon state pulling such **** numbers right now?
Both Oregon and Oregon State have an issue that school doesn’t start until late Sept. Couple that with not very compelling games, although not selling out Utah is a sad.

Just out of curiosity, is Reeser still undergoing construction, potentially impacting some seats? I'm really surprised by their lack of attendance, despite the school start. They've been a popular PAC 12 dark horse pic the entire off-season.

Definitely a wine and cheese crowd. But that’s OK. The regionality of college football is what makes it fun. Silicon Valley is a wine and cheese area. That should be reflected in the local tailgating. The shame is that more people don’t take advantage of a solid product. If my memory serves, it’s not even like the tickets are all that expensive.

Fair point. It was fun as a change of pace after CU (which is the "style" of tailgating I tend naturally to enjoy more). Tickets were indeed dirt cheap.

oh, good point. Yes the stadium is done but it’s changed the capacity. @Big Jim

You left out Sandra Day O'Connor, noted leftist.
