Pac-12 exploring new methods for conference scheduling

Just a few weeks removed from the league meetings in Phoenix, the conference is exploring matching up the best teams in the Pac-12 on a year-by-year basis rather than sticking to the pre-existing league schedules that was put in place on a 10-year plan prior to the 2011-12 season.

This is similar to the model used by the Atlantic 10, where the conference office regularly attempts to schedule its best teams multiple times in league play prior to each season in an effort to have the best possible metrics for the NCAA Tournament selection committee.

A separate source told FRS Sports that the Pac-12 has asked each head coach to pick next year’s order of finish 1-12 in an effort to gauge which matchups next year would yield the best possible formula in preparations for the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Seems a little goofy......can it be accompanied by a rule saying you have to schedule......I don't know.....2-3 power 7 teams (outside of preseason tournaments) every year OOC? I think that's the only way we put ourselves in a better position come March, and I don't think you can look at this league and make a compelling case for somebody as a clear cut favorite.
