I don't know much about the other PAC-12 teams this year. All I've gathered is it seems like USC is the shoe in to win the south, ASU won't be very good, Zona has Tate (who knows how good they will be), and Utah is always competitive.

I say 2nd place, and I think we end up putting an ass whooping on Utah, because we owe them one, and they are a team we need to start beating.

USC

ASU

However, I could see USC having a weird season, where the results do not match the talent due to QB play.

With media day coming up, I am curious what are everyone's predictions for the final standings of the PAC-12 South?

https://athlonsports.com/college-football/pac-12-football-2018-predictions

I am so confident in our WR talent that this poll makes me sick that we are not even in the top 6 against other programs that truly do not have what we have. Maybe its good to not have any of the hype that we had last year, because it is likely that hurts us this year with a ton of hype and no flash, but this years group is really truly special!!! I am not sure if I am the only one, but many of you have to feel the same way about these receivers? Winfree, Ento, Shenault, and possibly Brown have NFL talent and skills, and what seems like a chip on their shoulders to drive them to a great season. Obviously Montez or the other QB's need to "Throw them the damn ball!"

The WRs are not THAT good as a group. Some of you guys are getting way ahead of yourselves.

Current coach has finished last in the division in all years but one. Yet, y’all feel like he’s destined for greatness in this season?

Where’s this Kool-Aid for sale? Is it Prime eligible?

I’m actually very surprised with the poll results. Didn’t think that people would be this high in the Buffs.

Both lines are huge question marks for me. I don’t think this will be a great year (I really hope I’m wrong).

I am very high on the Buffs the following two years though. #CUin17 is a great class, and I think they can do big things for CU.

Agreed. Their level of output is wholly dependent on Montez and his ability to read coverages real-time and deliver accurate, on-time passes, and his ability to do that is mostly dependent on how much protection he gets.

Agreed. They have a TON of potential but that’s just sports speak meaning they haven’t done it yet.

USC
Utah
CU
UCLA
Zona
ASU

Zona could be 2nd if Tate plays like he did his first games...teams seemed to figure him out after that so I don’t expect much from them.

We were close to 7-5 last year and have a more talented and experienced team. 8-4.

Usc
Utah
Colorado
Arizona
Ucla
Asu

Washington
Stanford
Oregon
Cal
WSU
Osu

Usc upsets Washington in the championship game as their offense picks up stream in their last four games with a freshman quarterback, spoils the pac playoff chances.

Yes the WRs are expected to be good, but it’s one position group. We’ve got a lot of questions elsewhere - namely in the trenches.

I agree it is only one position, but do you think Athlon made its position group ratings on the effect that the QB and Line have on the WR's? And did they go as far as checking on the DB matchups week to week? Doubt it!!! This group of WR's is the best overall group we have had in a very very long time. We are recruiting the hell out of WR and DB's, and if there was a Spring College 7 on 7 league we would be fantastic. But, I agree with the reliance on Montez and the line to make the WR's good, and we need a slightly balanced and dangerous running attack to help make it all work. But, man for man, size, speed, hands, hunger, this group of WR's can help take us farther than many think, if we get the ball out of Montez's hands before a pass rush kills him, and let this group just carve people up, then I feel that is our ticket to a good season. As much as many of you hate it, this season requires us to go full Texas Tech and just try to outscore people and pray the defense can make plays and stops. Get ready for a bunch of 48-35 games!!!

Our schedule sets up very favorably. I see a 5-0 or 4-1 start as very realistic. We play 6 home games (7 if you count RMS) and play 6 programs with 1st year head coaches. Colorado will be in the running for the South, I think USC, Utah or Arizona wins it, but won’t be shocked if the Buffs do. PAC-12 is way down and the Buffs could have easily flipped their record last year.
I’m calling for 8 wins and 4th behind Sc, Utah and Zona.
This is one of our most favorable schedules in a long time and we are more experienced than last year. I also think the Scandel was a distraction last year and the team got a little overconfident from the ‘16 season. Our WRs and possibly RB’s are more talented this year and defense is more experienced.

Welcome back leash.

I’ll be interested in seeing how Utah does. A lot of people are seeing them as quietly going into the season with a good team.

It's actually infuriating and embarrassing that CU is paying him 3 mil a year to finish last in the division almost every year, he deserves at least 4-5 mil

While i don't necessarily disagree with anything you say, it's really depressing that favorable schedule + more experienced team = 4th in our division.

True, but like I said I won’t be surprised if we even finish first.
I think the South is wide open and just about every team is equal this year.

Agree with Unleash here. Behind SC, the next three (Utah, Zona, Buffs) are pretty comparable and could step up and win the South. I have said it in other threads and will again here. The Buffs can and should win 8

1. Usc that much talent will be hard to beat.
2. CU Im assuming the line will be okay, montez will grow up and that the wrs will live up to their talent
3. UCLA
4. Utah quietly a good team pretty much every year
5. Arizona sumlin is a charlatan and tate isnt enough
6. ASU worst coaching hire since the st louis cardinals hired bud wilkinson out of retitrement in 1979. This will be aztec-sacrifice levels of awful for asu.
