Oregon State? Yuck. But the rest of the Pac-12 seems to be distinguishing itself fairly well during the early-going Saturday.
Maybe Arizona State pushed a button that woke everyone up?
Oregon 48, Nevada 7 (12 minutes left in the third): I thought Oregon might be flat today. I was wrong. The Ducks are rolling the Wolf Pack. QB Darron Thomas has five TD passes.* Oregon is a different team in Autzen Stadium.
Stanford 24, Duke 7 (6:41 left in the third): Stanford has sputtered at times -- I saw Andrew Luck throw a pick-6; I had to wipe my eyes to make sure -- but it seems to be asserting itself on the road.
Washington 31, Hawaii 20 (3:22 left in the third): The Huskies jumped all over Hawaii early and led 21-0 after one quarter. Hawaii is fighting back, so Washington needs to be careful against a dangerous team. Bet the Huskies would like to give the Warriors a steady diet of Chris Polk in the fourth.
California 16, Colorado 13 (7:15 left in the third):*Had a feeling this wouldn't be another 52-7. *Neither team can run the ball and Cal QB Zach Maynard is laboring a bit on the road. Might we get an upset?
Washington State 21, UNLV*0 (12 minutes left in second quarter): It appears, ladies and gentlemen, that the Cougars are headed for 2-0, even without Jeff Tuel. How is Marshall Lobbestael doing? Glad you asked: He's completed 12 of 13 for 184 and two TDs. RB Rickey Galvin has 80 yards on five carries. UNLV has two first downs. Things are going swimmingly in Pullman.
