Pac12 Coach of the Year

Petersen has done a good job getting UW from decent to great, but he didn't take over an empty cupboard thanks to Sarkisian.

It might have taken MM 4 years, but he took over a cratered program. If we do indeed get to the Pac-12 CCG, he deserves it more, imo.

When does the "Fire Mike MacIntire" crowd step up like men and admit they were wrong? There were many many many people on the forum, in the media (Mark Kisla) who were calling for his job as recently as two months ago. I haven't seen any of those cowards step up and admit they were wrong. Way to go coach!

**** pac-12 coach of the year.. how about National Coach of the Year!

Tom Herman seems to have taken himself out of that conversation.....so wtf not MM?

i'd say the Pac conversation is still up for graps with Peterson, MM, maybe Leach and Whittingham with season outcome chances.

I'd have to think its more likely to be Leach or MM. Both had a lot of work to do when they arrived on scene. Not to take anything away from Petersen but I am swayed by the argument that he had more to start with than the other two did.

**** Whittingham.

Are all the people who called him WAC Mac going to start calling him PAC Mac?

This is from espn this morning. Don't see him leaving for awhile personally

Its a stab in the dark but I kind of think that MM knows SECland isnt a very fun place to be a HC. Taking note of the fact that even Urban Meyer excused himself of service there. MM's carved out a very nice spot here and he can make it grow with lots of support.

I don't see Mac going to an SEC team. They wouldn't give him the time he needs for a rebuild. Mac takes 3-4 years doing a complete foundation rebuild and the SEC just doesn't have the patience.

Like I said earlier this year, MM has done a great job here, and I really hope he stays, but his 32-50 all-time record - 38-50 if we win all our possible games left this year - would be a hard sell in SEC land, especially Baton Rouge.

If the Buffs only win two remaining games, maybe. More than that, and comparing relative expectations to results probably make him an easy choice.

Concerning the likelihood of him taking another job? I think he's truly tied to the team and, as long as CU finds comparable money to what he'd get elsewhere, he stays for at least three or four more years. Outside chance he considers Boulder his new home and stays for the long haul.

This is very concerning....

If Mac pulls a McElwain and bolts for the SEC after a 10-2 season, I think they immediately promote Leavitt as the new head coach. CU would be in much better shape with Leavitt than CSU was when they hired Bobo.

Keep in mind Jay Mac is only a sophomore and HCMM seems like the kind of man that wants to stick around his son and not jump ship for somewhere else. There is a hell of a lot of pride in building something, and this is different than SJSU because CU is not limited because of it's P5 status. Throw in the beauty of Boulder (I don't know the wife's backstory but certainly I'd have a hell of a time convincing my wife to leave Boulder for a similar job in the deep south). Much more concerned we lose Leavitt than HCM tbh.

If CU manages to win the south and gets to the Rose Bowl then MM deserves National Coach of the year. If for anything else pulling the program out of the depths back to legitimacy.

While Washington hasn't lost a game, the job that HCMM has done is clearly better in my estimation... Washington was supposed to contend this year, CU was predicted for the basement.
That and Sark left quite a bit of talent for CP. MM had nothing.

If Washington goes undefeated and is in the playoff I think Petersen is the coach of the year. If they lose then I would go mac.
