Twas the day before Christmas, and along the West Coast
Against ranked teams the Pac, well they were all but toast.
They’d played those teams to the tone of just three for the season,
If just a few conference teams dance, that shall be the reason.
The Trojans and KO braved the toughest of schedules,
While visions of crossing the tournament vestibule.
But losing eight of the twelve games they’ve played
Leads one to believe they’ve underachieved.
While in Pasadena, Josh Smith quit tryin’
Or was that their main man, Head Coach Ben Howland?
But Shabazz has found himself a personal trainer
And Jordan Adams is a formidable point obtainer.
The Mayor and crew incurred two bumps not in Boulder,
But they’re happy to know what Scott can shoulder.
To boot it’s good that altitude does indeed kick ass.
Just propose that very question to the Lumberjacks.
Utah has passed their win total from a year ago
An obstacle and burden they no longer must tow.
They are improved, Loveridge and Bachynski are nice
But there’s time yet still before the Utes deliver much spice.
In Tucson they’re defeatless and in the top-4
Exciting times with aspirations to reach Wildcat lore.
Led by the vets Lyons, Hill, and Parrom all day,
The show just could be stole by the sophomore, NJ.
The NCAA finally ruled that Jahii’s grades passed
Just in time for the Sun Devils to begin to play fast.
But despite their speedy and now eligible point guard
They’ve yet to play an opponent who is particularly hard.
Monty’s crew dropped three straight to tough squads,
And are no doubt happy with the play of Mr. Cobbs.
But they’ll need to find a way to win the tight one,
Lest they waste Allen Crabbe’s stellar season.
Stanford has dropped some games to ranked teams
Fulfilling the all too familiar mediocre theme.
But Aaron Bright was hurting, and Brown is out,
And Dwight Powell with Randle will right this, no doubt.
Oh boy the Huskies are seemingly in trouble
Their coach has publicly questioned the team’s hustle.
With pieces like Wilcox, Suggs, N’Diaye and Gaddy
It’s a wonder this team has played so shoddy.
Though I won’t soon be investing in WSU stock,
I will admit to watching the oh-so-efficient Brock.
That’s not to quit on this group of Cougars by Bone,
But the fact remains Motum cannot do it alone.
They continue to win that team coached by Altman,
No doubt thanks in part to the guy from Iran.
But we cannot forget the contributions of Dominic,
And it’s too bad EJ cut his flowy locks, it’s far less chic.
At Oregon State their first win came via election,
But they’ve impressed beyond Barack’s selection.
CRob said his team would be significantly large,
Even sans Angus, Collier, Burton, and Moreland are in charge.
And commissioner Larry in his new SOMA space,
Has gone ahead and put the Pac-12 Networks into our face.
And frankly, I’m Jewish, with nary a Christmas tree,
Whatever the case, I’m fortunate to not have Direct-TV.
We’re just a weekend out from the beginning Pac play
A chance to distinguish your team’s beyond OK.
Yes, yes indeed it’s there, so close it’s in sight.
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
