You'll never hear me complain about the fly aways again.

The stanchion style is way too dangerous.

I get that this was a fluke injury, but it happened making a normal basketball play due to there being an obstruction so near the court.

For those with strong stomachs...

Or you can just read the article without the graphic images. http://espn.go.com/olympics/basketb...ent-serious-leg-injury-team-usa-showcase-game

Im not a doctor but i don't think a leg is supposed to bend like that.

They are probably gonna have to put pins and **** in that. That's the type injury that can end a career, he's young though, maybe he'll be ok?

Was reading this morning that the stanchions at the Thomas and Mack Center are closer to the court than usual NBA courts. Some people were saying that the stanchion was at least a foot closer to the court than regular NBA arenas.

Disturbing video and picture....awful for him because he was just starting to really become a dominate player. Wishing him good karma and a recovery as close to 100% as possible

tib fib. horrible. I've seen two of those happen in real time. Not good memories. ugh. not good for Team USA either.

The Louisville kid comes to mind. Either way, that's not good for him. Just hope it heals up well.

After reading last month about Shaun Livingston's long road back to NBA relevance that may be a best case scenario for breaks like this. PG has a long, expensive, and painful way to go and I wish him the best. Pacers were already in a year when there were questions about their window closing and this is really going to hurt.

Great minds think alike ... eventually.

Haven't read the whole thread, so maybe someone has addressed this ... and I agree those drop down baskets are annoying. I was at the AZ game two years ago in the top row of the GA section towards one of the corners, and our view of the only scoreboard within our sightline was partially blocked by the struts.

But I'm pretty sure the portable stand-alone hoops were replaced due to player injury concerns. Even though they were well padded, players running at full tilt who get fouled or just lose their balance could run into them at high speed and suffer serious injuries. The drop-downs allow there to be a lot of open area past the baskets that wasn't there with the portable ones.
