Paul Richardson

It all depends on Wood. If Wood is just average Richardson can make enough plays with his legs

FWIW, only one 2012 all conference WR (Marqise Lee) out of four will be on the field this season.

I have seen him play as an AA in one game, and not much else. But I have think he has it in him to make All conf with his maturity. Could be one and done...

Yes, I think he's on a similar talent level as: Austin Hill, Josh Huff, Brandin Crooks, Shaq Evans, Marquis Lee, Kasen Williams, etc.

Lots of good young WRs that could blow up this year, though. UCLA has a few, Cal, USC of course, UW, whoever becomes the go to WR at Wazzu will probably have a big year.

That's quite a jump to take a year off then come back as an all conference WR. But sure, why not.

Also, you don't find many 2-4 win teams with an all conference WR. So if he does it, that means we're looking great on offense.

Not to be a Debbie Downer on this thread, but here is my 2 cents, FWIW... Paul has lots of potential, but in reality he has had 1 great game and only a couple of good games. Being the "man" the defense is going after and proving he can be/stay healthy is a concern. I hope he is all American! But there is lots to prove before we start sling'n that term around IMO...

Agreed, CU and Cal are probably the only two schools thinking he could be an AA right now.

Agreed. I was disappointed with him after the Cal game. He seemed to drop a lot of balls. He has the physical tools and knowledge to be a top 5 PAC 12 receiver...but like everything with this team...I'll withhold judgment until I seem success on the field.

If we don't show up with more weapons, he'll be buried and/or Wood will throw a lot of INTs trying to force it to him.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned our defense or the sheer volume of opportunities PRich will be receiving. Even if they do gameplan against him, do you really think they're going to enforce this during garbage minutes or substitutes will be able to adequately adhere to this strategy?

Uh Jeff Thomas, Nelson Spruce, DD Goodson, Gerald Thomas, and Vincent Hobbs?

I didn't say we have no one on the team, I said they have to show up. BTW, weapons means more than just an opposing receiver. Here are some accomplishments from last year, we have to do a lot better. Goodson barely got on the field and J Thomas, Hobbs and Richardson not at all. Yeah, it was Embree - Coach MM has some tools, but they have a lot to prove.

Wood, 7 games, 21/42, 1 TD, 4 INTs
Powell, 10 games, 158 rushes, 691 yds
Jones, 11 games, 63 rushes, 320 yds
Spruce, 12 games, 44 catches, 447 yds
McCulloch, 12 games, 34 catches, 436 yds
G Thomas, 12 games, 18 catches, 171 yds

Team (net, per game)
35 rushes, 110 yds
19/34, 193 yds, 0.9 TD, 1.6 INT

Lindgren>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>EB
Having PRich open the field>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>No PRich at all

I do not understand why people are sleeping on Spruce. Him not being the #1 WR and guarded by the #1 CB will help him tremendously. Yes our offense was bad last year but that was from a combination of having no one to spread the defense out (PRich) and having EB as the OC.

I think it's also fair to wonder if our QB can get the ball to our receivers consistently. We have some game day info on our QB and some against our own defense. Game day info includes inept coaching, and the other includes our defense. Seems like a question mark to me.

Well last year our offense couldn't move the ball at all against our defense. This year it hasn't really been an issue. Having an OC like Lindgren is going to help a lot and I'm expecting our offense to be pretty good (relative) this fall.

Why does everyone discount the Cal game like it was luck? 284 yards receiving!!!!!!!!! When was the last time that happened at CU? and vs a conference opponent.

Technically, that wasn't a conference game.

I agree with you and I am hopeful Connor will be quite good. I'm just pointing out that it is fair to question our QB play at this point.
