We entered this week in the others receiving votes category in both the AP and Coaches polls. With 22 points in the AP the Buffs were effectively #33, and come in #36 with 7 points in the Coaches.

We get a bump from beating ASU who was #24 in the Coaches with 116 points and 27th in the AP with 53 points. ASU will certainly fall behind us. With less teams to leapfrog the better chance to be ranked is in the AP. There 41 teams that received at least 1 vote in the AP, the last 4 (Iowa, Air Force, San Diego St, Wake) had no more than 3 votes. The last team I'll look at is NC State who had 9 votes.

Who lost?
#8 Wisconsin(4-2) lost to #2 Ohio St. in OT
#9 Tennessee(5-2) lost to #1 Bama by 39
#12 Ole Miss (3-3) lost at #22 Arkansas by 4
#16 Miami (4-2) lost to #28 North Carolina by 7
#17 Virginia Tech (4-2) lost at Syracuse by 14
#26 Georgia (4-3) lost to lowly Vandy by 1
#27 Arizona St. (5-2) lost to CU by 24
#37 NC State (4-2) lost at #3 Clemson by 7

The rest of #15 and down

#15 Boise St (6-0) beat Colorado St. by 5
#18 Florida (5-1) beat Mizzou by 26
#19 Oklahoma (4-2) beat Kansas St. by 21
#20 West Va. (5-0) won at Texas Tech by 31
#21 Utah (6-1) won at Oregon State by 5
#22 Arkansas (5-2) beat #12 Ole Miss by 4
#23 Auburn (4-2) was off
#24 Western Michigan (7-0) won at Akron by 41
#25 Navy (4-1) was off
#28 North Carolina (5-2) won at #16 Miami by 7
#29 LSU (4-2) beat So. Miss. by 35
#30 Oklahoma State (4-2) was off
#31 North Dakota State, lost to So. Dakota St
#32 Stanford won at Notre Dame by 7
#33 Colorado (5-2) beat Arizona State by 24
#34 South Florida (6-1) beat UConn by 15
#35 TCU (4-2) was off
#36 Washington State (4-2) beat UCLA by 6

Teams who didn't impress:
#8 Wisc, down a small bit for an OT loss to the #2 team
#9 Tenn, even though it was to Bama; down a decent amount for 2 consecutive losses, getting blown out, and validating the concerns about their "magical" winning tendencies
#12 Ole Miss, 3rd loss, albeit on the road to a ranked team will drop Ole Miss, maybe even out of the T25
#15 Boise St, went down to the wire with CSU, but still have 0 losses.
#16 Miami, 2nd loss in a row, at home, may fall out of the T25
#17 Va Tech, loss to a pretty bad team in 'Cuse, best bet so far to fall out of the T25
#21 Utah, squeaker against Oregon St will see them leapfrogged by big winners, but at least 3 teams ahead of them should drop behind them
#26 Georgia, losing to Vandy is really an embarassment, their votes are all up for grabs
#27 ASU, got thrashed, you all know about that one. I'm guessing that voters who had ASU in their poll will be giving CU some love.
#31 NDSU, FCS school was clinging to some sentimental votes from their win over Iowa, by losing they give those votes up even quicker. Teams like CU, UNC, Western Michigan, and LSU will eat up those points
#32 Stanford had to squeak one out against Notre Dame, maybe they won't be criticised for it because of McCaffrey's absence, but they won't be moving up based on a win that came down to the last play against a losing team.

Moving on up:
#18 Florida, SEC wins mean everything, or something, even if you're beating Mizzou
#20 West Va., having zero losses starts to become significant and a road win against a potentially bowl eligible team cements their ranked status
#22 Arkansas, big win over #12 Ole Miss. They will get that SEC love this week and move up even more than Ole Miss gets moved down.
#28 UNC, win on the road against ranked opponent (#16 Miami)
#29 LSU, SEC love again, beating up on So. Miss. will allow voters to get excited about post Les Miles LSU and move them closer to where they started the season.
#33 CU, yup winning big against a previously 1 loss P5 school has to count for something.

Damn, man. That's some serious Buff devotion. I don't know if I am impressed or frightened you put that together at 2:30 last night. Either way, thank you.

I wouldn't say Wisconsin did not impress. They had Ohio State late until a costly turnover, and a bad set of play calling inside the 5 in OT.

Unfortunately I don't think enough teams in the 15-25 range lost for the Buffs to make it in, but I hope I'm wrong. Things kind of aligned perfectly two weeks ago.

Eh. I almost hope we don't get ranked this week to keep the extra target off of our back on the road at Stanford.

Let's be honest, it was a night game on the Pac-12 Net. Only a handful of west coast voters saw it, and they're already the ones voting for it.

It wasn't that late. Come on. 8 pm EDT. Lots of viewers in the east would check that out.

JR is probably right. Only thing is, even espn was on our jank. Freaking Mark May too, Idk if I've ever seen that.

Relative to their spot at #8, I say a loss at home fails to impress, they hung onto the top 10 with a tough loss against Michigan once. I think that mid-October is when the loss total really starts to take over the quality of losses at the top. All that said, I only have them dropping 3 spots.

That great tOSU vs Wisconsin game was on at the same time. The only people watching us were CU and ASU fans. And maybe a few die hard Pac-12 fans who would choose a conference game over a top 10 matchup.
