Ya ya I know, no positives in a loss but:

Canty looked good
Woodson is huge
Not a big drop off from Speedy to Tony, Ford as well
Hirschman getting pt, displayed some zip I haven't seen from Hansen

That's about it:cry:
 
A few really nice Dub fans came over to say "howdy" to their new conference mates. That was nice.
 
Positives? We are one week closer to basketball season.

Wouldn't mind Miller not starting for the next 1st Qtr. either. He hasn't shown much for a 5th year captain. Seemed he received better coaching at Columbine.
 
i've learned that i can just dvr the game, do something much more enjoyable on a saturday, and then, after fortifying meself with demon alcohol, watch all the lowlights quickly and fast forward where it becomes too painful. instead of 3+ hours of being miserable, i can get it down to like 45 minutes or so.

Watched the first half live, finished painting the outside of the house the second. I will watch it today.

When you are down by as much as we were at the end of the half the game was no longer in question, now it's just a matter of watching individual players and what they do, not time critical.

+1 I've watched the first quarter then came back later to hit the good spots.

Canty did look good. Guess he slowed down out of his breaks, or did Hansen speed up his delivery, which would actually be a true advantage;-)
 
Watching the second half today. Truthfully the Buffs don't lose anything going to Jones from Speedy. Speedy a bit more elusive but Jones is a tougher runner.

Team kept on playing in the second half, could have just quit and didn't. Canty is a smurf but is much more effective than Clemmons, when PRich comes back I want to see Canty on the field with him. McColloch is also a guy to look to in the future.

Daigh isn't ready yet but looks like he will be a solid LB for us. Henderson is playing way before he should but is going to be a legit CB.

We have our best young kicker since Mason and best young punter since the same era. Need to get better on kick-offs but at least we aren't making field goal attempts a heart attack play.

It's going to take some time but this team will get better over the coming years.
 
We scored on our first possession of the game.
Polk didn't hit anybody late and out of bounds.
Only 3 penalties.
We scored more than 20 points on the road.

Rugged, that sort of remark belongs in any number of threads that don't concentrate on the positives. This is the positive thread. Do you understand?
 
Hirschman looks like a great QB and even if he is the career backup I am confident with him in the game. Here's the qualifier: If he gets adequate pass protection. Has a great arm. Just wish our line could block for such passing potential.
