Pre-Ordering Bowl tickets

Looks like you can pre-order up to 8. First, are you guys pre-ordering. Second, if so, are you ordering only what you need or are you ordering extras figuring you can sell them? Are you ordering for every possible scenario or just, say, the Rose and Alamo? My kid is convinced I can sell any I don't use. Maybe even for a profit. Gotta decide by tomorrow. What are you guys doing? This stuff is new to me.

I would not order extra.

The secondary market for bowl games outside of playoffs rarely gets face value from what I've seen.

my one bowl experience, I paid $50 for a pair, 5 rows up on the 40, an hour before kick. cheapest tickets at the box office were $75 each. The game was sold out, but not packed. lots of people get corporate sponsor tickets but don't care about either team.

That's the other thing. Do you even need to order through CU? I kind of feel the way they are doing it is bull****.

^^^^^^exactly! Couldn't agree more.

This whole bowl ticket thing - so confusing. We're clearly out of practice. Glad we're getting it sorted out. After a couple more years of bowls, I bet this ticket buying thing is smooth as a baby's butt.

I ordered extra for the Rose (+4), Cotton (+2), and Alamo (+2). I looked at their attendance histories and those tend to be at or near capacity. Same number of tickets for each, but I know it will only be me + my boy for the Rose. Can take the whole family to the other two, plus gives me the option to bring others. Figured at least I would get near face. Hoping to get enough for the Rose Bowl extras to pay for about half the airfare.

I ordered rose, Alamo, and cotton back when the link was first emailed out. I just ordered enough for my family more so because I didn't have a few extra hundred to chance reselling. If it's anything like the P12 championship tickets, I bought my ticket on StubHub for half the price of what the CU ticket office charged.

Championship games have a history of not selling out due to the short time frame and mostly lack of local interest if in a "neutral" location. The Big 12 championship games I went too way back when were almost always packed with the south division due to proximity (OU and tu) in KC and Dallas. I think the only one that was close to a sellout was 2001 in Dallas. The KC games I don't think came close, plus it was cold as hell for them.

I pre-ordered 8 for the Rose because I didn't know how many people will be joining me; figure I can just sell any I don't end up needing. I didn't reserve any others because I don't think the price will be any higher to buy later and may be significantly lower.

I have 7 commitments for the RB and 4 for anything else. Now, I didn't opt for a playoff bowl. I wonder what CU will do if that happened? Tell ya "too bad, man. Ya had your chance?"

Ummm, the playoff games were not included. Disclaimer at the bottom was that they would email instructions if selected for a bowl not on the list.

Ahh. My bad. Didn't pay enough attention since I didn't even think it's a consideration. But that brings up an interesting poin about playoffs. If you're a fan of a team that is in them, you could be out a **** load of money with tickets, hotels and air fare.
