Sure, on paper, it doesn't look like it. But, we're gonna win. You know why? Because we've been road kill for a decade and no one is expecting anything from us except pure crappiness.

I believe that the football gods have a sense of humor and all the pundits who predict our continued suckitude need a karmic kick in the nads.

And mot importantly, I believe the universe will laugh and laugh at us if our resident super fan is able to post "I told you so" over and over again.

We bowl. And the haters weep.

Now I know who took my weed.

purely for medicinal purposes, man.

we ride the wave of improbable karmic justice to a bowl game. sure, it will be the "i can't believe this is an actual sponsored bowl game" bowl in ****town, usa, but i'm still going to go. well, unless i have to take a covered wagon or something to get there.

We may not compete for the division title this year, but we'll **** up someone else's chances in what could be the most competitive division in CFB.

You are going, even if you have to take said covered wagon.

Out of 45 voters, CU received 46 votes at P12 media days. That means 1 person thinks we're the second worst team in the conference.

We got 'em right where we want them.

There is no where to go but up. Get on board the Buff Train 'cus it's rolling down the track.

I think I'm about as positive about the Buffs and their likelihood of getting a lot better this year as just about anyone.

And if I were to vote on the Pac-12 South this year, my vote would have looked like this:

1. USC
2. Arizona State
3. UCLA
4. Arizona
5. Utah
6. Colorado

For the North, I'd go:

1. Stanford
2. Oregon
3. Cal
4. Washington
5. Washington State
6. Oregon State

Overall, I'd put the Buffs 9th in the conference behind Cal and ahead of Washington this season. And Cal only gets that nod because I believe they have the best quarterback in the country. I don't like the rest of their team as much as CU's.

We are fans.

Nobody has gotten injured yet, nobody has shown that they have failed to develop over the off-season, we haven't thrown an INT, fumbled, or missed a big tackle yet. Most importantly nobody from another team has shown that we aren't as good as we hope to be yet.

My Kool-aid isn't spiked like some of you have calling for bowl games, etc. but I am believing that we will be a better team this year and get some wins to prove it.

This is by far the most excited I've been since 2008. We go bowling and like the rest of the PAC, win our bowl game.

PAC12 South is the best...an improved Colorado team would make it the most competitive. What division (assume we are decent) has such parity?

How can people NOT be excited at this point. We know the staff can coach X's and O's because they're taking kids who were losing by 45 each game to a team that was leading seven games in the 4th quarter last year. The facilities are exceeding our wildest expectations, and having a tangible effect on recruiting. The staff changes, while minimal, are energizing the team and at least a few members of the staff. The recruiting trajectory, while still probably not meeting the expectations of some, I'd argue has us right where we want to be. We can't hold back all of our spots hoping to have a huge season and sign a mob of talent that was pulled by our win total (because more than 5 wins may be tough). If we sign a class full of kids like Blackmon, Uddoffia, Terriek and Akil Jones, and hit on 2+ of the FL kids, it will transform the roster.

"The facilities are exceeding our wildest expectations, and having a tangible effect on recruiting."

The 1st half of that sentence is correct - where is evidence of the 'tangible effect'. I think we have a good chance to win 4 this year.

Obviously someone pays zero attention to recruiting.

(Hint: good recruiting results this year will have zero effect on this year's win/loss record, or: your second sentence has absolutely nothing to do with your first.)

A good chance at 4?
Not having a tangible effect on recruiting?

We are always surprised by teams. Last year, AZ and UT were better than people expected. UCLA under-performed...

We will see some shifting around for sure.

Remember all the arguments about just how tangible the recruiting results would be due to facilities and uniforms? I believe that argument is now academic.

Remember how people were saying they wouldn't have a real effect until you could actually see the facilities and not just a hole in the ground or a blueprint?

it is easy to predict improvement and 4-6 wins. any part-time innerwebz sports "journalist" aspiring to actually have a media credential someday can make that prediction and be in the safe zone. that's why the consensus opinion out there is that we will be improved but still suck overall.

but maybe they are wrong. statistically, they are making a safe bet. but, events land at the far ends of bell curve from time to time. we could be significantly suckier than the pundits suggest or we could be significantly better.

more than once, i've been at a craps table where a shooter has avoided rolling 7-out for dozens of rolls. it happens. the dice have no memory.

every year, someone jumps up and over delivers.

this year, maybe it will be us. don't bother me with the ****ing facts. i'm aware of all the reasons why it is improbable. i also know we are so ****ing overdue for some breaks our way. we've been lap-danced to the edge of almost-goodness and it is time for some payoff.

Go Buffs.
