Predict the Starting Line-up Against CSU

I for one understand how pointless predicting the starting roster is at this point of the season. With fall practices not even scheduled, possible injuries and the last of the transfers/recruits not getting to campus until the summer months we don't even have the full team yet. However, with spring practices set to rap up relatively soon and nothing but recruiting to look forward to it might keep the football discussion going. So what say you, who will start against CSU?

Everyone has high hopes for Perry. I am sure that he plays a lot at a minimum, and could end up starting most of the games this season. But you guys really think that we start a true freshman in the season opener? I would be shocked if he is ready to take that on so early.

I think the safety position is so open that nothing is off the table.

I don't disagree with that at all.

I am simply saying that a freshman needs to adjust to so many things, and the special ones take it on without a problem. All indications are that Perry could be one of those. But starting a kid fresh out of high school in the very first game, on a big stage, that has never seen the speed of an actual game in college before just seems like a big risk to take as a coach. He could show you everything that you need to see during camp to believe he'll do great, and most coaches would make sure he plays plenty of snaps in the first game to see how they react....but VERY few would actually roll him out there for the very first play. Especially at a position that can be so exposed.

If he starts game 1, it means that he is insanely mature, or that the coaches are willing to take a risk. Both of which I support....I just wouldn't project it.

The coaches may not have a choice though. Safety position looks really thin right now and there has not been much indication from the coaches that they are comfortable. Lines up well for a newcomer to take the job IMO.

inexperience at safety can make for some long Saturdays. Corner is easier to play with a freshman. Two inexperienced safeties?...oh boy, watch out.

Wouldn’t it have helped for him to be an Early Enrollee and got all this coaching and snaps in the spring? Because he is not here now, I do not think he will be ready.

We have some holes up front so there are ways around it but is there a team in the conference that can cover Shenault, Nixon and Stanley consistently? I know we haven't seen much of Stanley on the field yet but he is going to surprise a lot of people. The key to keeping blanket coverage off those guys is to hope Harris can help some of the pressure on the edges of the offensive line.

Still not sure if Lynott is actually pushing for the starting center spot or if it is just because Pursell is injured but it is nice to see some of that talent at guard push guys out of the lineup, that is exactly what we needed.

QB- Montez
RB- Mangham, Smith, Fontenot, Broussad
TE- Harris
WR- Viska, Brown, Nixon
LT- Hambright, LG- Roddick C- Pursell RG- Lynott RT- Sherman

NT- Johnson DE- M Johnson DE- Lang
ILB- Landman
ILB- Allen
OLB- Wells or Callier
Star- Taylor
SS- Hypollite
FS- Udofia
CB- Abrams
CB- Miller

Mangham physical runner has the edge. Just has to learn pass protection.

Was about to ask if you were making a bold prediction that Joshia Davis was switching from tailback to inside linebacker bigbang:ROFLMAO:

So I’m driving to work and I accidentally cut someone off on a lane change. It was pretty bad and I’m glad there wasn’t an accident. She is very pissed and yelling and giving me the finger. I am feeling like an ass hat and giving the sheepish look and what not. She swerves around me and cuts me off to prove her point. That’s when I saw the CSU alumni sticker and I suddenly felt better and gave her the finger

I wonder if she saw your CU sticker first.....This could be a classics case of misplaced road rage. If I’ve seen it once, I’ve seen it a thousand times.
