I kinda like the FSU picks, but damn, that QB situation seems like it is hanging on by a thread.

Yeah FSU is definitely a sketchy pick but they are loaded. It would be crazy to see two conference get two teams in like FSU, Clemson, Bama and LSU. Or even if three power conferences were left out with Bama, LSU, Clemson/FSU and Houston making it.
 
I think it is very wide open this year, so you can make cases for a lot of teams. Going to be fun to watch.
 
Believe it or not, I actually went through every FBS schedule and predicted outcomes for the season. Should be interesting to see how accurate I was.

Interesting. I'd swap Vanderbilt and South Carolina on that. I think SC is going to be really, really bad. Spurrier left the cupboard pretty bare.

Very interesting. If SC can survive the first month of the season, I'll be impressed. Miami is on the rise, but a year or so away from a playoff team IMO
 
I heard from a person very close to Richt that they don't have the depth to compete with Clemson and FSU this year and he knows it.

Won't happen as long as an expanded is likely to mean that some G5 team needs to get invited and gains a piece of the money. P5 will want to break the G5 and relegate them to a separate NCAA division before this is allowed to happen.

I like how the analysts at SBnation break team power rankings within each conferences into six tiers. Within the PAC Colorado is Tier 3. As the deepest conference, the PAC has no team below tier 3. All the other P5 conferences have teams in tier 4.

Most of the teams in the ACC are generously in the tier 3 - they all go to bowls every year because the ACC sucks and because they own east coast bias. Clemson and FSU have a whole season for developing their depth against patsies before they get to the playoffs. In the SEC both Vandy and Mizzou are tier 3, while South Carolina and Kentucky are tier 4. In the Big10 Rutgers and Illinois are tier 3. Purdue is tier four. In the BIG12 TT, KSU and ISU are in tier 3 and KU is tier 4. SB is generous to ostate and Baylor

These rankings are about right to me if I were an objective observer from the outside. Objectively, CU would be a potential force in the ACC and a middle of the pack bowl team in the other P5s.

As far as national rankings I think by the end of the year USC will be the best team in the country but the won't go to the NCs because of their record. I think Oregon will be the 4th best team but they won't go to the NCs. I think we will actually be tier2 team.

Interesting question on Russillo and Kanell yesterday. For the last 9 years 3 of the AP top 12 teams have ended the year with 4 or more losses.

This includes bowl games so it is a little harder to predict but LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame stuck out to me.

Best QB in the Big 12 and one of the few who is returning from last season. When Mayfield was granted the extra year, I shot them to the top of the heap.

If they stay healthy they'll be great, but if Mayfield gets hurt (and he's a little guy who runs with a history of concussions), all bets are off. They got nothing behind him.

I think the only way that 2 teams from one conference make it into the playoff is if they are both from the same division where one of them has 1 loss to an undefeated division champion. A team who loses in the conference championship game likely isn't getting into the playoff.

Hey guys...I've been lurking here for a few weeks. I'm a Clemson grad who moved to Colorado last year. I've had a lifelong connection with Denver and I've always had a soft-spot for the Buffs, so, since I'm living here, I'm paying attention to some message boards so I can know what to expect this upcoming year.

I didn't intend my first post to be non-Colorado related, but how in the world is Miami getting multiple votes to win the ACC?
