Colorado added another important defensive piece.

Not one, but two Seminoles are Boulder bound.

Just hours after Derrick McClendon made his commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes officially known, his old teammate Brendan Gant decided to make the jump too.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker has put in work on the Noles defense with 112 tackles (5.5 for loss) over four years in Tallahassee. Gant joined Florida State as the nation’s third-ranked safety in the 2018 class, and later converted to being part of the linebacker core. He also excelled as a two-way player, helping lead Kathleen HS to Florida 7A regional semifinal appearance in 2018 as a quarterback.

Brendan’s uncle, Kenneth Gant, won back-to-back Super Bowls as a safety with the Dallas Cowboys in the 90’s and was nicknamed “The Shark”. However, he was a year removed from playing with Deion Sanders in the secondary.

The duo of FSU defenders are joined by former Old Dominion defensive lineman Chazz Wallace as the latest to transfer into Colorado.

Gant is the third player to join the Buffs since Wednesday. The three are part of an initial wave of new talent being ushered into the Flatirons over the coming weeks to make up for a mass exodus following Saturday’s Spring Game. He comes to Colorado with a year of eligibility remaining.
