The Buffs are adding OL talent

Everyone agrees - the one way the Colorado Buffaloes will have success under Deion Sanders is by bolstering the trenches. Really, that’s true of any coach, but with the way that Coach Prime has build this team, the skill positions improved a lot faster than the trenches. That is starting to change. Using the transfer portal and increasing amounts of high school recruits, the Buffs are getting bigger.

Chauncey Gooden is as big time as they come along the offensive line. the 6’4, 320 pound (lol) rising senior is one of the best prospects in Tennessee this cycle. He had some great performances at camps that put him on the map. Gooden visited a lot of places but he most recently visited Clemson and Missouri before visiting and then committing to the Buffs. He was in between Clemson, Missouri, Arkansas and many other Southern programs before committing to the Buffs. At his size and frame, he could presumably keep growing and play on the outside, but I am treating Chauncey as a top tier guard prospect as he stands currently.

Below is Chauncey’s junior year tape. One thing stands out immediately - this dude is massive. Like, bigger than everyone else on the field by far. Gooden is PUNISHING the opposing team when he pulls as the guard and in pass protection, he finishes the block. Some of that film isn’t relevant just because of how much bigger he is than the opposing team, but he also moves very well for his size and clearly has technique in his punch. There’s a reason that he got all of those offers. This is a great piece to build next to Jordan Seaton.
