Domata Peko is headed to Boulder

Even more NFL experience is joining the Colorado Buffaloes’ coaching staff.

Longtime NFL veteran and former Denver Bronco Domata Peko has been named CU’s new defensive line coach, per Pete Nakos of On3 and Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera.

Peko has 15 years of NFL experience on the defensive line, with 11 of those years being with the Cincinnati Bengals. CU’s new D-line coach has started 194 games as a pro, along with tallying 20 sacks and 616 tackles at the highest level.

As a coach, Peko spent last season on staff for the Dallas Cowboys as an assistant defensive line coach for former defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who was also a defensive analyst for Colorado in 2023.

Peko will take over the role of former defensive line coach Damione Lewis, who left for Miami, and team up with NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp to coach Colorado in the trenches. Between Sapp and Peko, CU now has 28 years of NFL experience on their defensive line coaching staff alone.

With the addition of Peko, CU’s defensive line staff should be more or less set in stone. If any other coaching changes pop up, we’ll be here to update you at Ralphie Report.
