Former Pro Bowler hasn’t played a full game since 2020
David Bakhtiari could be close to returning for the Green Bay Packers.
After being sidelined for nearly two years due to a severe knee injury, the All-Pro offensive tackle confirmed he will be in the lineup Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.
“I’m on the active roster just like anyone else,” Bakhtiari told ESPN. He went on to say, “I can get through the season. It’s going to be fine. You have to just manage while playing,”
The former Buffs standout spent the past 20 months recovering from multiple knee surgeries with the most-recent coming this past offseason. He has only appeared in game since his ACL injury, when he tried to return last year in Week 18 game, but only lasted three series on the field before exiting.
After the Packers took Bakhtiari off the PUP list, he was participating fully in training camp without showing signs of slowing down. Hopefully Bakhtiari will return to his All-Pro level.
The Packers open the regular season vs. the NFC North rival Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 11.
