The Buffs head to the Rose Bowl for a face-off with the Bruins.
For one final time, the Buffs will take on the UCLA Bruins in Pac-12 play. As of now, Vegas has the Buffs pegged as 17-point underdogs.
The Bruins are currently 5-2 and ranked 23rd in the AP Poll, with losses to Utah and Oregon State. The Buffs are coming off a bye, so they should be fresh and ready to take on a very good UCLA squad.
It’s hard to blame the oddsmakers for making UCLA such a heavy favorite after the Buffs blew a 29-point lead to 1-5 Stanford. To add insult to injury, the Bruins just crushed Stanford, 42-6, this past weekend.
The good news is that that the Buffaloes have been in a very similar spot before. To open the season, Colorado were 21-point underdogs against a ranked TCU team. Despite that, CU pulled off a stunning 45-42 victory. The odds have meant very little when Colorado is on the field, as their performances have been unpredictable to say the least.
Coach Prime and his team will fight for their fifth win in Pasadena on Saturday. This week’s game is a great opportunity to redeem themselves for that embarrassing Stanford loss. If the Buffs can pull off an upset win this week, their bowl hopes will come back to life. Fans can watch Colorado take on UCLA at 5:30 p.m. MT on ABC.
