RR Ralphie Report: Buffaloes receive one lone vote in AP Preseason Poll

At least someone believes in the Buffs!

The Associated Press released their official preseason poll on Monday morning and the Buffaloes were included... kinda. Colorado received one (1) vote in the preseason poll, barely making the honorable mentions by the skin of their teeth.

Receiving one vote in the AP Poll is not easy. It means that one sole voter put the Buffs at 25th (the very last place) on their ballot, which is exactly what happened. Quite literally everyone excluded the Buffs on their ballot except for one man; Fox reporter Mike Hill.

To one special AP voter, you're a brave, beautiful soul. pic.twitter.com/zNTlt7nemx

Hill was the only voter bold enough to vote for the Buffs, albeit at 25th place out of 25. It’s nice to know that someone out there believes in our Buffs! Shoutout to you, Mike!!!

In other, more serious news, five of Colorado’s opponents this season were included in today’s preseason poll. Those teams are as follows:

  • #12 Utah (Week 12 at home)
  • #17 Oklahoma State (Week 14 at home)
  • #18 Kansas State (Week 7 at home)
  • #21 Arizona (Week 8 in Tucson)
  • #22 Kansas (Week 13 at Arrowhead Stadium)

Also worth mentioning: North Dakota State ranked #2 in the preseason FCS poll. We get the distinct privilege of opening our season at home against the Bison. (I’m TERRIFIED of that game...)

Colorado’s schedule is hard, but there is a silver lining. All of their ranked matchups come late into the season, and the top three all happen at Folsom Field.

Maybe the Buffs will be ranked by the time K-State comes to town! Who knows!
