Give me more Bama linemen, please

The Colorado Buffaloes are losing established talent all along the defensive line. BJ Green, Chidozie Nwankwo, Dayon Hayes, Shane Cokes, all of these players are established starters who know how to play defensive line. That is a lot of production to replace. Sure, the Buffs have built some depth. Anquin Barnes is coming back, as is Amari McNeil. Keaton Wade and Arden Walker came on strong. There’s some talent there.

But why not add some more?

Jehiem Oatis is the #1 defensive lineman in the transfer portal. The 6’5 (!), 330 pound (!!) redshirt sophomore has played a bunch for Alabama, including as a true freshman. As you might have guessed with those measurables, he is not a pass rusher, but this dude takes up space for sure.

Former Alabama junior DT Jehiem Oatis has committed to Colorado, he tells ESPN. He’s the No. 1 defensive player in ESPN’s Transfer Portal rankings and the No. 5 overall player. Oatis started 13 games during his first two years at Alabama and is a former Top 40 recruit. pic.twitter.com/55163wVuT2

Oatis is immediately going to join this DL rotation and work with Damione Lewis and Warren Sapp. Sapp is a great person for any DT to work with, especially some one who wants to pass rush a little more. If this is the start of the transfer portal season for CU, strap in Buff fans, it’s going to be fun.
