The Buffs will have some award buzz if things go as planned this season.
For like, the fourth time in the last month, Travis Hunter landed on a preseason award watch list this week.
On Monday, Hunter – along with Arizona State transfer and new teammate BJ Green – were two of the players listed on the 2024 Chuck Bednarik watch list.

Each year the award goes to the nations best defensive player, and recent winners include first round picks like Alabama’s Will Anderson, Georgia’s Jordan Davis, and Ohio State’s Chase Young. Named for the two-time NFL champion and 10-time First Team All-Pro Eagles linebacker from the ‘50’s, it’s been an official award since the 1995.
For this season, Hunter and Green were two of twelve players from the Big 12 who made the list, and Colorado was one of two Big 12 teams (Oklahoma State) who had multiple starters on it.
The Bednarik is just the latest in a growing list of watchlists that Hunter’s appearing on this season. He was included on the Walter Camp Award and the Biletnikoff Award, which go to the nation’s best player and the best receiver, respectively. He’d be the first Colorado player to ever win the Bednarik if he were to bring it home.
