The Buffs are headed to the land down under.

The Colorado Buffaloes are headed to the land down under this summer, as the Daily Camera’s Pat Rooney broke the news that Tad Boyle and company are planning on taking an exhibition trip to Australia later this year.

Rooney reports that the Buffs will play four exhibition games in Australia before the start of the regular season. Extra games mean more opportunities to grow for this 2025-26 team. After a tough season only a year ago, the importance of extra practice time is something that isn’t lost on Boyle.

“It’s a jump-start on the season, is how I look at it,” Boyle told BuffZone. “It’s extremely important to me for a couple of reasons. Obviously, the basketball piece of it is great. Ten practices, we get four games when we’re over there [in Australia]. That’s a jump-start on things.”

The NCAA allows schools to take an international trip once every four years, and the Buffs will cash in on their chance by heading to ‘Straya after practices start on June 1. International trips aren’t new to Boyle either, as he’s taken his squads to Costa Rica in 2021 and Italy in 2017. Colorado also participated in the Pac-12’s annual game in China in 2019.

The teams that Colorado will play in Australia haven’t been announced. They could be against other American schools, Australian schools, or a mix of both. When more news breaks, we’ll be right here to update you at Ralphie Report.
