On a quiet and unsuspecting Saturday, Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes made a big splash, landing a commitment from former Memphis offensive lineman Xavier Hill.

Hill started his college career with LSU, where he played in only six games in three seasons with the Tigers. In 2023, Hill transferred to a different Tigers squad in Memphis, blossoming into one of the American Athletic Conference’s best offensive linemen during his time in Southwestern Tennessee. In his two seasons with Memphis, Hill was the Tigers’ best lineman, earning second-team All-AAC honors in 2023 and first-team all-conference honors in 2024. The 6-foot-four, 318 lbs lineman primarily played right tackle during his time at Memphis.

Ranked as 247 Sports’ 28th-ranked offensive lineman in the transfer portal, Hill comes to Boulder for his sixth season of college football with one year of eligibility remaining. After Colorado’s offensive line had a rocky season in 2024, Hill’s addition is a surefire improvement to the group. Although he established himself as an elite offensive tackle at Memphis, Hill can also slide over and play guard. Expect to see him on prominent display for the Buffaloes in 2025.
