CU will commemorate the greatest players in program history.

The Colorado Buffaloes have seen better days on the basketball court, and that’s why they’re choosing to look back instead of forward the rest of the season.

The Buffs will soon unveil a Wall of Honor at the CU Events Center. There will be displayed the names and numbers of the greatest players in program history.

Those players are:

Chauncey Billups (1995-97)
Alec Burks (2009-11)
Jim Davis (1961-64)
Spencer Dinwiddie (2011-14)
Burdette “Burdie” Haldorson (1951-55)
Jay Humphries (1980-84)
Cliff Meely (1968-71)
Andre Roberson (2010-13)
Scott Wedman (1971-74)
Derrick White (2016-17)

Those names include NBA Champions, Olympic gold medalists, All-Stars, Players of the Year, and a whole list of all-conference selections and accolades of the sort. They’re legends of the game, at least in Boulder, and every one deserves their one write-up when their number is revealed. (Stay tuned.)

The first to be honored will be Haldorson, Meely and Davis during the Buffs’ January 28th home game against Arizona State. After that, Humphries has his own ceremony on February 8th when the Buffs play the #7 Houston Cougars. The rest at TBD.
