Rob Livingston is staying in BoCo.

The University of Colorado’s Board of Regents met early Friday morning to approve a two-year, $1.8 million extension for defensive coordinator Robert Livingston.

Livingston’s contract averages a payout of around $1.5 million per year with incentives and includes an additional $100,00 retention bonus if he stays with CU following September 2026. This contract makes Livingston the highest-paid assistant coach in Colorado Football history, with the previous title belonging to 2023 offensive coordinator Sean Lewis.

Livingston, who came to Boulder in 2024 as a first-time defensive coordinator from his previous job as safeties and defensive backs coach for the Cincinnati Bengals, shined in Colorado’s nine-win season. Under Livingston’s control, CU led the Big 12 in sacks, forced fumbles and fumbles recovered, also finishing third in interceptions. Livingston was named as a semi-finalist for the Broyles Award for his part in building the Buffaloes’ stellar defense in 2024, which is given to the best assistant coach in college football.

With Livingston under control for the time being, Colorado fans can now turn their full attention to the rumored big-time extension to Deion Sanders that could be coming soon. As soon as any news breaks, we’ll keep you updated here at Ralphie Report.
