The Big 12 is happy to have the Buffs

As of midnight on August 2nd, Colorado is now officially a member of the Big 12. The Buffs have returned to the conference after a brief 13-year stint in the Pac-12, but they're finally back to their roots.

The Buffs were the first Pac-12 school to jump ship to the Big 12 during the Pac-12 exodus fiasco, acting as the catalyst that resulted in the other four-corner schools following suit. Deion Sanders and Colorado threw Brett Yorkmark and the Big 12 a lifeline after losing Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC, so the Buffs have been welcomed to their new (old) home with open arms.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders joined the conference in welcoming the four new schools to the new 16-team iteration of the Big 12.

TCU followed behind their West Texas rivals, officially declaring themselves our new friends. It seems like the Frogs have put that brutal week one loss to Deion behind them for the greater good of the conference (Sorry ‘bout that one, but not really).

Learn about our new @Big12Conference friends. #GoFrogs

Baylor didn’t offer an official welcome to the Buffs, but they brought the memes, which are always appreciated.

Houston posted a nice little graphic welcoming the Buffs to their new home. Shoutout to all the Texas schools for welcoming us in!

Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys didn’t want to get left out of the action either.

The West Virginia Mountaineers welcomed the Buffs from across the nation in Appalachia. Personally, I can’t wait for 8 pm conference games in Morgantown!!! (yes, that’s sarcasm)

Looking forward to visits from @AZATHLETICS, @TheSunDevils, @CUBuffs & @utahathletics here in Almost Heaven!

Kansas State was sure to send us well wishes from the Little Apple down I-70 in Manhattan.

The Cyclones up in Ames chimed in to welcome the Buffs.

The only three schools not to welcome the Buffs to the Big 12 were Cincinnati, UCF, and BYU. We’re gonna keep that in mind going forward. Perhaps there’s some rivalries in our future, who knows...
