Another contributor is leaving the Buffaloes
After two seasons with the Buffaloes, sophomore running back Anthony Hankerson is leaving Boulder to take his talents elsewhere.
Colorado struggled throughout the season with their rushing game, and Hankerson was one of more consistent running backs in the Buffaloes arsenal. Throughout his two seasons in Boulder, Hankerson rushed for 593 yards and four touchdowns on 146 carries, averaging just over four yards per carry.
Hankerson is the fifth CU player to enter their name in the transfer portal, and all five of them were carryover players from the 2022 roster, prior to Coach Prime’s arrival.
With Hankerson’s departure, Colorado will have to rely on other weapons to produce more out of the backfield. True freshman Dylan Edwards rushed for 321 yards on 76 attempts and hauled in another 299 receiving yards. Sophomore Alton McCaskill chose to redshirt his first season in Boulder to heal from injury after transferring from Houston. Between Edwards and McCaskill, the Buffs should have a solid starting point.
