The Colorado Buffaloes found out their first round opponent for the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Tuesday. The eight-team tournament will feature the Buffs taking on the Minutemen of UMass in a non-conference affair on Nov. 17. at Coastal Carolina’s HTC Center.

It will be an early start for the Buffs with an 11:30 a.m. MT tip-off on the books. Tad Boyle’s squad will take on either Texas A&M or Murray State in the second round. The other games in the tournament include Boise State vs. Charlotte, along with Loyola-Chicago taking on Tulsa.

All games will be aired by ESPN with the tournament finale on Nov 20.

Colorado and UMass have met three times previously, and never in a home-and-home series. The Buffs are 1-2 all-time vs. the Minutemen including losses in the previous two meetings. The two teams last met in Las Vegas in 1997 which resulted in a 79-68 loss for CU.

This also marks the first time since the 2011-12 season UMass will face a Pac-12 opponent. They beat Utah 89-75 on Nov. 25, 2011 before losing to Stanford in the NIT Semifinal by a score of 74-64.
