Colorado’s favorite son is an Olympic champion

Derrick White is wearing gold yet again, this time a gold medal around his neck after Team USA’s win over France in the Olympic final.

White didn’t play in this game, but he was a huge contributor along the way. He was superb early in the tournament against Serbia and South Sudan, setting the tone with energy and selfless play.

His willingness to play a role was a huge help to a stacked Team USA. That’s why he was playing over his All-Star teammates, because he fits better around players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

This caps a huge summer for the kid from Colorado. He won the NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics, signed a massive contract extension, and then was a late add to the American roster.
