Bo Nix’s one and only trip to Boulder was special

Bo Nix did it all against Colorado on a breezy Saturday afternoon.

The Ducks QB pulled off a hat trick— throwing for two touchdowns, rushing for another two, and being on the receiving end of another. A total of five and not a bad present to his new team, giving the ducks an eighth-straight victory on the season.

Oregon (8-1, 6-0 Pac-12) scored at-will on CU’s beleaguered defense, racking up 479 total yards in the 49-10 win. A team past the 46-point blowout at the hands of Georgia to open the season looked well on their way to competing for a Pac-12 Championship next month.

Nix finished his day completing 20-of-24 passes for 274 yards.

“We don’t care about stats. Stats are for losers,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. “I’m sure our players take pride in it. I don’t want that to come across the wrong way. The goal is always to win.”

The Ducks have now scored over 40 points in eight straight games and the only FBS team to accomplish that feat.

Colorado (1-8, 1-5 Pac-12) had an “ah-ha” moment with their only touchdown in the game. An 81-yard strike from J.T. Shrout to Jordyn Tyson on the Buffs opening drive of the second quarter. A career-long for both on the play and the longest from scrimmage for the Buffs in over five years.

However, bad news for CU’s budding new star as he’ll likely be sidelined for a significant amount of time. Tyson went down in the fourth quarter with an apparent lower leg injury. He finished with five catches for 137 yards.

The Buffaloes’ bad luck against Top 25 teams continues. They’re now 4-34 against ranked teams as members of the Pac-12 and currently riding a seven-game losing streak.

UP NEXT:

Colorado hosts Washington next Saturday at Folsom Field. The Huskies are coming off a 24-21 upset of No. 23 Oregon State on Friday night.
