I’ll miss you, big thumper
Well, everyone, I’m sad. Travis Hunter just won the Heisman and I’m sad. The Colorado Buffaloes have a chance at 10 wins and I’m sad. Why am I sad? Oh, I don’t know, I just think it’s unfair that transfer portal players just pop into your life, steal your heart and then leave. Breakups suck, I guess.
Nikhai Hill-Green is a linebacker’s linebacker. He’s not rangy, necessarily and he doesn’t look like some of the long, sinewy backers you see today, but he just does the LB job well. Hill-Green fills the gaps, runs downhill and stops runners from moving forward. He lived in the backfield. He brought physicality. He was the best. When he was a part of senior day festivities, I figured he would be moving on to the NFL.
Et tu, Hill-Green? Et tu?
Apparently, he has more eligibility found somewhere in the COVID pocket of his suit jacket, and depending on his NFL feedback, he may be getting a big payday somewhere else. That also means that he is not playing in the bowl game,
Hill-Green was the first Buff linebacker I was in love with since Nate Landman disappeared (he was so good). It’ll hurt to lose him.
Colorado All-Big 12 linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green is expected to enter the transfer portal, a source tells @CBSSports/@247Sports.
Green, who began his college career at Michigan, posted 82 tackles at Colorado this season.https://t.co/QgjDsQuF1K pic.twitter.com/glhR6Ti6i0
