The wave of Sanders’ keeps coming to Boulder. Shilo Sanders announced he would be transferring to Colorado after graduating from Jackson State University last week. No real surprise considering his the situation.
Sanders, a 6-foot, 195-pound cornerback, was an All-SWAC selection and also made the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2019 while at South Carolina. He racked up 59 tackles (2.5 for loss) with 5 INT’s, 12 PDU’s, and a forced fumble. Sanders appeared in four games as a true freshman at SC. He used the NCAA rule to retain the year of eligibility.
Shilo is a pure athlete who can play the role of a disruptor in one-on-one battles. While No. 21 will forever be his father’s trademark, the Buffs newest twenty-one brings a wealth of experience to the secondary. Sanders was limited in 2022 with a knee injury, but is expected to be 100-percent in the fall.
“We got a few positions already taken care of because I’m bringing my luggage with me. And it’s Louis [Vuitton],” said Deion Sanders told his players back in January. “I’m coming. And when I get here, it’s going to be changed. So I want y’all to get ready to go ahead and jump in that portal, and get whatever you’re going to get. Because if more of you jump in, the more room you make.”
Coach Prime has added another important piece to the roster. This will be Sanders’ final season as a graduate transfer from JSU.
