Colorado’s most explosive player will be going to Indy

Colorado wide receiver LaJohntay Wester is officially headed to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, capping off a monster season where he proved to be one of the most dangerous slot receivers in college football.

After stepping up in a huge way following Jimmy Horn Jr.’s injury, Wester became Shedeur Sanders’ go-to target, finishing the year with 74 receptions, 931 yards, and 10 touchdowns, solidifying himself as one of the most productive wideouts in the country.

There was some uncertainty about whether Wester would receive an invite, but his film speaks for itself. His ability to create separation, stretch the field, and rack up yards after the catch makes him a serious NFL prospect. He consistently delivered big plays in Colorado’s high-powered offense, including productive performances on special teams as well.

When the NFL scouting Combine kicks off in late February in Indianapolis, Wester has a massive opportunity to boost his stock before the 2025 NFL Draft on April 24-26 in Green Bay. His agility drills and 40-yard dash time will be critical, as scouts will want to see just how explosive he truly is. If he can put up strong testing numbers, don’t be surprised if Wester starts climbing draft boards. With his production and playmaking ability, he has the potential to be a mid-round steal for a team looking for a dynamic slot receiver.
