The Colorado Buffalo now gets to cook with Baker.
The Carolina Panthers have made major moves this offseason to help boost their offensive production. The most recent of those additions is forever Buffalo WR Laviska Shenault.
Shenault, who has spent the entirety of his young career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was sent to the Panthers on Monday. The details of the trade have not been announced.
The Jaguars drafted Shenault in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Over the course of 30 games, he has caught 121 receptions for 1,219 yards, averaging 10.1 yards per reception. Shenault has 5 touchdowns in his two-year career with the Jaguars as he fought through injuries and Urban Meyer.
The Panthers recently acquired former Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. Shenault’s 6-foot-1 220-pound frame provides a big target for Mayfield. The 23-year-old should complement the Panther’s offense, as he will team up with other wide receivers such as DJ Moore and Robbie Anderson, as well as running back Christian McCaffrey who is always a threat in the passing game.
In three years with the Buffs, Shenault caught 149 receptions for 1,943 yards and averaged 13 yards per reception. He also caught 10 touchdowns for the Buffs before declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft prior to his senior season.
The Panthers will receive a fantastic target and offensive weapon in Shenault, and he should be a nice addition to their rebuilding team.
