Colorado’s top recruit will make an immediate impact in 2024

Welcome to our official countdown until football season! There’s only a few weeks left until the Colorado Buffaloes kick off the 2024 campaign against the North Dakota State Bison at Folsom Field on August 29th, so we at Ralphie Report are going to celebrate the only way we know how: with some power rankings! Over the next 20 days, we’ll rank the 20 most important players for the Colorado Buffaloes ahead of the 2024 season.

Getting five-star recruits to play ball in Boulder is a tall task. Historically, recruiting the nation’s top players has been an uphill battle for Colorado’s coaching staff, but that all changed when Deion Sanders came to town. For the second year in a row, the Buffs have landed a five-star recruit and the top player at their position from the recruiting class; offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.

Seaton was the consensus best offensive lineman in the entire class of 2024, ranking as the fourth-best player in Florida and the 13th-best player in all of America by 247 Sports. The 6-5, 285 lbs tackle played at IMG Academy during to play high school ball and put on a clinic in one of the sport’s most competitive states.

For lack of a better term, Seaton is a freak athlete. He’s big and strong, fully capable of bullying grown men at the line of scrimmage. He proved he could pass-block against the best players in Florida, being a sturdy force protecting the quarterback’s blindside. Don’t let his size fool you either, Seaton can MOVE. There’s a video of him at IMG running just as fast as the team’s receivers at full speed, despite weighing over 100 lbs more than them.

For a team that probably had the worst offensive line in the country last season, it’s hard to put into words just how huge Seaton’s addition is this season. Landing a prospect like Seaton immediately improves the entire line, but one question remains: will be he ready for college football in a power conference this year?

Truthfully, no one knows. Seaton will be a game-changer for the Buffs down the line, but banking on an 18-year-old true freshman transforming your entire offensive line is risky business. In just four days against NDSU, Colorado fans will finally get their first look at Seaton in action and will the future of Colorado firsthand.

Going by the Denver scrimmage, he is adjusting, but not quite where he needs to be yet.

We may have to put a TE in the backfield occasionally.this year. Make Pat S earn his money
